I have played now few games in 1.24 and i gotta say i feel like ottomans are no more aggressive what they were few patches ago. They doesnt no longer expand to levant,Iran. Also they doesnt expand to europe except wallachia and Serbia. Yes they still annex turkish beyliks byzantium albania and few venice possesions. After ottomans have theyre initial expand i feel like theyre ai dies. After few thirty to Forty years they stop expanding. Is this bug or meant to be like this?

Current game is a Denmark campaign. It's 1610 or so and the Ottomans have taken Iraq and are two wars deep into dismantling Russia (which is gigantic). Their aggressiveness is fine. They just have a slightly slower start since they're missing a few cores compared to last patch

that Crimea event really does seem to push them towards Russia in a big way a fair amount of the time, even if it's not guaranteed

apparently I ain't playing the same game as you. the only time I found they expanded "slowly" was partially due to player intervention, where playing as Russia I sealed them off at Crimea and near Moldavia. They also allied Qara Qoyunlu, who blimped up in size themselves and sealed off the east, and they also allied Aq Qoyunlu, who were relatively small but large enough to seal off the Caucuses. so basically, it took a combination of player intervention and two AI alliances (alliance which didn't seem to occur too often in my other games) to limit their expansion.

that Crimea event really does seem to push them towards Russia in a big way a fair amount of the time, even if it's not guaranteed

Funny thing is, in my game they didn't even get the Crimea event, or rather they got the worse outcome that only gives a CB or something, and then Crimea got eaten by Lithuania / Russia. But once the Ottomans get around to taking Georgia and get a border with Russia, it doesn't matter
