Oh, I agree. But they're reworking a lot of the game, so maybe they can do that at some point. Conquest should be easy, in a way. Holding on to what you've taken, on the other hand, that should be hard.

Instead they start out slow, and accumulate more and more power, becoming nigh unstoppable in the late game.
The ottomans may not have the best quality, but they still make up for it in sheer manpower, and mercenaries too.Lategame Ottoman Empire is nothing but a pile of dev ready for the picking.
Doesn't matter. Even if they run rampant there will be someone close to on par with them for you to ally. The ottomans may not have the best quality, but they still make up for it in sheer manpower, and mercenaries too.
another crimean march event ?Something else worth mentioning, is that the Ottomans cannot into Algiers; historically, Algiers offered itself to the Ottoman Empire in return for its cores being fed back to it to put it in game terms. This was despite the Ottoman empire's closest point at the time being the Peloponnesian Peninsula. To get that to ever happen (I've never seen an AI Ottomans even make it to Tunisia) would require a serious rework of vassalisation acceptance conditions.
