imo you should finish influence first before going gungho with the conquest CB. It would save you 50% of those dip points.

Yeah I figured waiting would be the right option as I've just fought like 4 wars versus ming and tributaries and its just destroyed my diplo. I know going diplo would be good but I didn't start this as a WC attempt, I just got an early timurids as a vassal and fed them most of their cores back. Thanks for the advice
For me in a WC run diplo is a 5-6 pick. The cheaper warcost is only useful against big blobs. Against smaller countries it doesn't really matter if it's cheaper since it's already less than 100% warscore of full annex it. And playing as Ottoman diplo isn't really needed since you already got a great start, although it does make it easier.

At that point, finishing influence has very little impact (even if it's good), because Imperialism is about to hit so there won't be any dip point. I'd rather rush for the -100% dip cost than the -50% one ^^

I guess it depends who you play as. To me, not only does it allow to One War some countries like the one uniting Madagascar, Kilwa or something who might have needed two wars (typically, quite weak, but rather big), but also to get "better" 50 WS peacedeals. If I'm fighting against Austria + England but don't have the navy yet to siege England and their colonies so I'm stuck at 50 WS and I don't want to white peace ENgland out of Length of War because I've other things to do, Dip allows me to take more Austrian land for that 50 WS. And Dip is also one less war to dismantle Ming or the Ottomans. But I may value it so highly because I usually start small and I can't block AI from blobbing way over 100% WS.

I realize you didn't plan on doing a WC, but the Holy War casus belli would have helped you quite a bit here, since you don't need to pay diplo fro land. As far as moving forward goes..save scum the Ottoman heir events until you get 6 diplo? +5 from advisor +2 from focus +1 from PP, +3 from base = 17 per month :) Once you get the Imperialism CB, you should be able to get back on track.

The Sunni Ottomans are one of the only tags with which I would not get Religious to WC (with Hordes, Mughals, maybe Rûm who are very similar to the Ottomans except they don't have the missions). They have unujustified demands with their government form, free claims from missions, extra tolerance so they don't really need to convert, they'll start out with mostly expansion towards their religions (Egypt, Arabia, Middle East, Swahili Coast and India can be full of Sunni countries and they're the clear first targets to get the powerbase), and their situation in Europe + government form + strong economy allows to generate tons of monarch points easily without needing to develop for institutions, so you can trade some dip points without hurting yourself as much as with most tags.

I reassigned some of the merchants, organized the estates and deleted most of the forts. Transferring is mostly better at this point still but you really need to kill Mewar asap. Stacks should fill frontline CW at 34 at this point. Don't need more than 2 cavs per stack or any at all. When more money comes in build manufactories in all provinces with more than +.50 income. Build more regiments up to your force limit, Build heavy ships in both the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean stacks. WC should be no problem. One faith may be close. Keep your estates happy, when burghers get to 50% loyalty demand money from them.
Thanks for this, I never realised quite how big a difference having a merchant collecting in the capital did, and I realise just how many pointless forts I have as I never deleted any that I took. I'll work on getting my diplo up now and finishing off mewar
