Ottoman Mission: Convert the infidel

After crushing byzantine empire and the knights a mission appeared to me with very good bonuses if completed. Convert the infidel: The lands of Asia Minor are at the very core of the Empire where the Sultan draws the large percentage of his manpower. The large scale communities of Christians and other faiths of the Book are considered a subversive danger, let us send forth our teachers and give them the chance to submit to God's will.

There's a generic goal to reach, when i got the mission, no claim was automatically fabricated. the goal is to:
Success conditions
Ottoman Asia Minor is completely Muslim.

The question are: do i have to convert to muslim MY Asia Minor provinces (like rhodes) or do i have to conquer all the Asia Minor provinces (like trebizond that is not under my influence) and convert them? Where does the Asia Minor finish?

If you check out the additional map modes, find regional map mode and hover over provinces, it will show you where Asia Minor ends.
As for the mission, I am unsure, but similar missions tend to be own the provinces and all muslim
i.e: there are actually 2 conditions
Own all of asia minor
Must be Muslim

You only have to convert your provinces in Asia Minor (so Rhodes most likely).

Key word being "Ottoman" in this case. Only your provinces.

Yes. it worked well. i've just converted Rhodes and gained 30 army trad and 5o military points. Great mission! Time to blob now

Don't have access to EU 4 right now, but off the top of my head the only 2 Orthodox provinces in Asia Minor region are Trebizond and Rhodes. So you need to conquer the Anatolian Beyliks (Candar, Caraman, Dulkadir, Ramazan), the Knights and Trebizond.

I only conquered Rhodes and it worked after converting it. I conquered trebizond later…

Some of these missions you can cheese, by doing Rhodes, getting the mission then Treb and doing it again. I know for Spain, there is a mission to take 3 northern Africa provinces and it gives you 200 admin points or something, half the price of the core (mission gives you claim). If you take one, you finish the mission, then it pops again later, so just rinse and repeat three times.

3 times? no... you can do it over and over and over again.

Just release a vassal, or sell the provinces to a vassal, and you'll get the mission again. soak them in, pop them out, get the mission again. repeat until you're bored of getting +200 admin per X time it takes to soak them in.

I know this thread is old but I still have a question after reading it. I have the convert infidel mission as Ottoman. The objective reads: "No provinces in the Anatolia region owned by the Ottomans is NOT in the Muslim religious group."

What is meant by "owned by the Ottomans"? In my game the Ottomans do not own every province in Anatolia. The only provinces in Anatolia that are not Muslim are not owned by the Ottomans.
