style = 2

date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1510 }

deathdate = { day = 1 month = january year = 1819 }

action_a ={ # Assume the title of Caliph
name = "ACTIONNAME3371A"
command = { type = inherit which = MAM }
command = { type = vassal which = ARA }
command = { type = relation which = ARA value = 50 }
command = { type = relation which = ALD value = 50 }

Province 746 is Cairo, you might want to force convert them before so that they dont convert good suni provinces to shiism, and instead convert provincs to sunni.

I have the AGCEEP mod with EUII 1.08, and I've noticed that I must also have possession of Aleppo in order to get the "Sultan becomes Khalifa" event to fire.

In AGCEEP, this event is much more limited, and in different ways than having to control some provinces. There must be a war between OE and Egypt (off course), but Egypt can't be larger than 21 provinces (so, no exploit for the OE player of letting Egypt expand across all Middle East before inheriting them), and Egypt must have lost the control (at least) of Aleppo, Syria & Egypt (even if it's not the OE who controls it), and the OE must control one province among : Lebannon, Samaria, Judea, Delta, Alexandria. Not as simple as vanilla, is it ? :)

I'm playing Ottomans right now with the AGCEEP. It's super easy to take over Egypt. All you have to do is focus on Land Tech and wait till 1500 (around there) when you get Selim the Grim as your monarch/general. You'll want to wait for him because 1) he's a great leader, and 2) Egypt's provinces won't be part of your core provinces until he takes the throne. Once you have Selim you should be several levels ahead of Egypt in Land Teach. Just take a huge force of infantry units and assault all of the fortresses on your way to Egypt. You'll own the country within a few months (in-game months, obviously).

It was a touch easy for me, since a crazy-huge Qara Koyunlu had taken over Syria, Aleppo had revolted to Dulkadir (which had itself sprung out of one of those lovely Egypt-wide rebellions), and I dropped two armies at once, one in Alexandria and one in Cairo. About four months of sieging later, all of a sudden Egypt was mine. I didn't even know about the event, so it was a pleasant surprise. Made it very simple to go vassalize Tunisia.
