Hi there!

I have decided to give up my game with Spain and start anew with all the valuable things I have learnt. Spain was interesting ... a small decadent empire turned into a great Power, loved it. However by 1880, I was getting rebellions all over the place, always farmers, I don't really know what I did to piss them off, can anyone tell me what exactly pisses farmers off?

So my game with the Ottoman Empire ... I am unable to build factories because I have no machine parts, but that does not bother me, I will have them sooner or later; what does bother me slightly is that having declared war on Egypt due to the event that comes up, I succesfully managed to defeat them, occupied all their provinces and decided to annex them. My surprise came when I looked up my badboy and it was 50 ... arghhh ... I had a claim to a number of provinces (namely Lebanon, Syria and Palestine), which I believe do not count towards badboy, also, egypt is an uncivilized nation so their provinces should cost about 1BB each ... and they do not own 50 provinces, do they?

Well, I just wanted to know how it is possible that this came about ... Its terrible, If BB goes down by 0.5 every year, I need 100 years to be a good boy again :S ...

Thank you for your time ... by the way, I got a message saying that Montenegro had declared war on me ... I thought "no problem" I will squash them ... and not call upon my allies. My surprise came when Russians started advancing on me ... do you only get one message?

You should just satellite Egypt. You won't get the Egyptian core lands, but the whole Levant is yours without a single badboy-point.

Actually, Egypt has exactly 50 provinces, though that includes the cores, which still give BB if you annex. Best thing to do with uncivs like Egypt is taking as many provinces as possible, as taking provinces from uncivs doesn't give BB, only when you annex. Sateliting is a good option as OE though.

Especially so since you get all the lands you claim when satteliting, but - AFAIK - without BB.

So best would be to sattelit them AND to demand some provinces you don't have cores on it...

More land, but 0 BB at all, right?

Being as insane as team, I like to brutally subjugate as many people as I can. I couldn't stand not making Egypt part of my wonderful empire! Bad boy be damned!

...of course, I am crazy.:)

You can take all the land you want from an uncivilized power without it costing any badboy, so long as you leave some of it sovreign. If you Annex an unciv, you get 1 BB point for each annexed province. The simple thing to do is to crush the unciv and, in the peace negotiation, take everything except his capital. Then, wait 5 years and annex that, too. Voila, only 1 BB for 50 provinces.

I think as the Ottoman's you'll definately want to eventually take all of Egypt, since Arabic is one of your cultures and there's a lot of Arabs in Egypt. :) Don't be satisfied with satelliting them! Do as Cro-Mag says and take as many provs as you can in a couple wars before annexing the capitol in the last one.

That's exactly what I do when I fight huge unciv countries like Egypt. It is pretty much an exploit though.

When I'm playing "realistically" I have a house rule that I never take more than half a country's provinces during a war unless they have fewer than 10 provinces. When I allow myself to annex the whole country if I want BB be damned.

And when I'm not playing realistically anything goes :)

Well, I left it at that ... Montenegro has declared war on me, and with it Russia and some others, but I am not sure Egypt was the reason for that, England (with whom I had an alliance) has declared war on Russia, so has sweden (I believe) ... so, it is the begining of that war, I have ordered my troops in the caucasus to resist the Russian onslaught and have ammassed some troops in the balkan frontier with Russia, let them entrench ... Oh! and Montenegro has been attacked by Austria ... that may mean Austria is also against Russia ... don't know ... It was 4 in the morning falling sleep :eek:o and the beer had taken its toll ... I'm sure you understand, I will have a closer look on the situation tonight see if I can keep you informed. :p

Well, if Russia is in it because of Montenegro, just occupy them and get an alliance peace; or even better, you might even use that to get stuff from Russia (wouldn't indemnities be sweet?).
