So the situation is this:
year is 1520 something
I directly own up to bohemia, the syrian half of austria, west along africa to tripoli, east as far as persia which is my vassal with 5 provinces, I havn't bothered going south into deep africa yet but I border it.
France is the BBB with all of its lands but is indifferent to me, spain is split into aragon castile and portugal, Muscovy is also pretty large for this early in the game as it is starting to eat up horde land (horde land I am racing to eat first)
The current situation is that I just depleted all my manpower in a massive coalition war vs most of the HRE, denmark and PU pals, and the commonwealth (which just formed). However right after I won that war a bunch of new nations joined the coalition. Every time the coalition runs out everyone piles back on.
Tech wise I am near the front of the race, I have two idea groups filled out, admin and offensive with a third slot empty.
My question is this: What can I do to keep expanding? what should my next steps be?
I'm torn between several idea groups for my third, religious is at the front atm as my RU is at 87% and I am out conquering my missionaries.
Militarily I plan to take the rest of Persia when my armies recover, hopefully leaving enough time after that war to fight off yet another coalition war. I don't see any real way to stop the coalition wars, every person in the coalition has -100 or less. I was trying to get a powerful ally but the only large nations that don't hate me dont like me enough to ally. Plus the coalition means I can't pick off any of the small christian nations I've been eyeing for decades.
I've been trying to alternate my conquests to reduce AE but when I took half of austria for my vassal all of europe coalitioned me (including france (luckily it was a OPM that declared and I was able to 100% him before they got there))
I didn't read the tooltip at the time but why did returning my vassal's cores give me so much AE? is it because its inside the HRE?
