This is the Odachi of Magara Naotaka, a warrior of the Asakura clan. He was killed at the battle of Anegawa against the Oda-Tokugawa armies, and his blade was taken away to the Atsuta Shrine in Owari (this shrine is a NI of the Shiba clan btw.)

The developer, Square-Enix, is in Tokyo, which was called Edo and is in the in-game Musashi province.

(The legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi got his "Musashi" part from the province, not the other way around. And it was not his name but a title.)
