Will my policy of just being present be enough in and of itself to triumph over most of the other players?

I'm willing to play anyone else who hasn't played a match yet, if MC deems that legitimate enough.

If insufficient attempts to play have been made by either player, I may at my discretion choose to give 0/1 to both players. If it seems one player has tried a lot harder to play than the other, there will be a forfeit instead.
So long as they also haven't played you yet, I'm OK with it. Try to maintain the colors you were assigned, and I'll adjust accordingly.
If you're interested anyway, there are almost certainly people in the tournament who are at/near whatever level you are.
My ranking is like... 400 or 500, something terrible like that. I haven't played an actual game of chess in months.
It goes to 0 afaik.
I'm basically in a spot where I can beat the average person, but if I'm put up against someone who knows the very basics of chess strategy, I might be in a bit of trouble >_>
Watching the results of these games is incredibly fun, though, I must say. Please do keep going.
EDIT: I remember playing a three-game match with my friend, who's ranked about 1100. I badly lost one, tied another, and almost won the third. But that was also about a year ago

I don't think it does go that low, but I'm not all that familiar with how the Elo rating system works.

If @bakerydog, @Dr.Livingstone, or @Rolman99 care to dispute this, they should come online and say so, then make arrangements to play against their opponent. As of now, I am inclined to withdraw all three players from the tournament. Two games from this round are labeled TBD and should be made up ASAP; for pairing purposes, these players have temporarily been given a half-point.
