Just play as varangian guard :rolleyes: the orthodox haven't any crusades, but i think that with few changes in 00_religions.txt they can have crusades

It's easy to mod in crusades for orthodox if you want. I think the line is allowcrusades=no just change it to yes. This is in the religions file in the common folder. I tried it once before the Legacy of Rome dlc and it was a lot of fun.

The idea of a "religious crusade" fighting in the name of the Lord was repugnant to the Byzantine people and clergy. They couldn't understand how the Prince of Peace was turned into an excuse for war. Although they at times brought religious symbols with them into battle, it was largely to boost moral, rather than using God as an excuse for war.
