Orthodox priests and monks are wrong

Orthodox priests traditionally all had long beards. It is even said to this day that if one is "fired" he's getting a shave.
So the look of the Ecumenical Patriarch of all, is somewhat strange.

Also this is not how an Orthodox monk looks like

Monks in particular not only have long beards, but hair as well, and preferably black or dark clothes.



EDIT: I would argue that the older the Priest the longer the beard should get.
Especially if we're talking about the Patriarch.
Thankfully the barbershop is unlocked for your bishops, so that somewhat saves the immersion from breaking

Also this is a Catholic nun, not an Orthodox one.

Thankfully it's an easy fix as she only needs her clothes painted black.

Good points, but the same goes for the often large beards I see on Popes and the Catholic clergy at large - by far and large the vast majority tend to have the beards the Orthodox should have. It's just the RNG of the DNA generation.

They just need to bake this into the religious hair preferences.

There's something broken right now with the beards in game as there's another thread pointing out that tons of starting characters that had them in the last patch now don't.

Many religions and cultures have pretty static hair and clothe traditions and just need to be baked in.

Bald bhuddhist monks, higher preference for no beards in catholic clergy and rulers, mandatory beards for orthodox, highly preferred beards for muslim religious leaders, etc.

Good point and well spoted. In fact in old orthodoxy if you died and had no beard, the priest refused to give you a funeral service. Unbearded priests were unheard of, and still are.

Actually the older the priest/monk, the longer the beard.
The lower the rank, the less the beard. For example young Deacons could be almost beardless.

Byzantine fresoes showing what bishops/patriarchs looked like, and a modern reconstruction. They wore the omophorion on top of the phelonion/polystavrion. you'll notice there's nothing on their heads since the orthodox didn't wear mitres until after 1453.
