So, can someone give me a step-by-step guide about how to become orthodox as the Ottomans ?

The people who like playing the Ottomans surely can. All I can think of is putting a missionary on an Orthodox province (like Constantinople) that preferably has no core (to increase rebel spawn chance). Then just wait for Orthodox rebels to spawn and then give in to their demands (this will cause a stab hit of 3 though).

Optional) Take the City of World's Desire mission to get a CB against Byzantium, and take Constantinople
1) Stick a missionary in a high base tax province (like, say, Constantinople), and drop missionary maintenance to 0 so you don't have to pay anything.
2) Let religious rebels spawn...
Optional) Move your capital to Constantinople via mission, which you can only do if you're Sunni (I think).
3) Let them take your province and then agree to their demands, becoming Orthodox. You may need to do something (like sell Sunni provinces to Turkish minors) if Orthodoxy isn't the dominant religion, but it will be if you've taken Constantinople and Albania and nothing Sunni.
4) ??? (become HREmperor?)
5) Profit!

I am playing a orthodox ottoman game, but beware. Once you got a PU over a sunni land, you CANNOT integrate them as you are christian. Yeah that sucks ass. I have a PU over timurids and granada (allied them right of the bat in 1444, and gave them provinces in peace deals) which are both pretty big. Cant integrate fml

I had the same question myself a couple months back, and got some very helpful responses in my thread. http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...omans-help-please&highlight=orthodox+ottomans

This should get you going. Enjoy.
My step by step on your topic isn't the best option anymore. I've played way less Otto on 1.5, but here's what you probably wanna do as ortho-otto now:

- Annex Constantinople, vassalize Byzantium. Force rebels on Constantinople. Accept demands.
- Increase relations on Bosnia, Serbia and Wallachia, diplo-annex them.
- Conquer your cores. Get byzantine cores back from Venice and OPMs.
- Release Croatia from Venice. Get Croatia's cores back from Hungary.
- Release Moldavia from Poland, diplo-annex. Get 1 ruthenian province and release Ukraine as vassal. Get Ukraine's cores back.
- Get 1 syrian province from Mamluks and release Syria as vassal. Get Syria's cores back. Same to Iraq and Persia.

Now, to join HRE, you have the same options as before. If you vassalize electors, you'll have to face a coalition.

switch back to sunni. After revoking you can safely switch back to sunni for the additional morale bonus. You can still pass the last reform even through the -50 false religion modifier if non of the princes are very big and you got good relations + 100 IA.
