Orthodox invasions?

They seem virtually impossible to request. The Pentarchs make the system very odd. In my current game as Rome, I can't request an invasion because the Ecumenical Patriarch isn't independent. I also don't seem to have any option to make the Patriarch independent.

Yup, theyre rare. Basically, you need the ERE to fall for them to be made possible. I believe its to prevent the ERE from blobbing even more than they already do, and should they fall then the other Orthodox states get a boost.
