Hi,
Everything about Ryazan' sounded very good. Really appreciate such a knowledgeable and interested in Russian history folks. Sure, it was not a Khanate but principality(knyazhestvo) as many independant Russian principalities before the Mongol yoke. That time Russian lands were like western feuds and duchies. Solid works about Russian history of that period were written by Soloviev and Kluchevskyi as well. As far as I know there are English translations.

Regards,
Nick

Kosovo should be orthodox as in the game years , as i understand them, Kosovo was still primarily occupied by serb nationals.

The Albanians have only been there for a few hundred years.
Kosovo begins the game as Orthodox.

Kosovo was entirely Serb-Orthodox until 1690. Then, due to an approaching Austrian army, the Serbs revolted against the Ottomans, hoping for liberation to be nigh. But, alas, the Austrians stopped their campaign (separate peace...) and the Serbs were alone to face the approaching Turks. This led to a northbound Exodus by perhaps some 100.000s Serbs led by the Arch Bishop (one of the great scenes in Serb nationalist mythology - there has been made a very famous - among serbs - painting of this picturesque occurance, the bishop in head of a caravan of wagons, riders, sheep, cattle). The Serbs settled in Vojvodina as far as I remember, being the southern defenders of Austria. In Kosovo, Turks urged Albanians to settle, instead of the refuged Serbs. But Kosovo actually was the heart of Serbia, Serb kingdoms (even an empire in the years up to the Battle of the Kosovo Plain) and of Serb population until 1690. It´s for a damn godd reason they got all their old monasteries, churches and so on in that province.

And by the way. Serb population was in spite of the 1690 Exodus the majority population UNTIL AFTER THE WWII!!!. Then Albanians became majority population and are now 90-95%.This for various reasons:
Serb emigration. Due to better possibilities of life in the more modernized parts of Tito`s Yugoslavia (Kosovo was by far the poorest and least developed part). And because of strife between the two groups (already then, or still. Actually, reading Serb history, you get the idea that ethnically cleansing has been some kind of folk sport in those parts for some centuries)
Because of the settling of Albanian refugees preferring Tito´s more liberal Yugo, than Enver Hoxda´s hard-core Stalinist Albania.
Because of immigration of Albanians fra Yugo-Macedonia to Kosovo.
And because Albanian population has the highest fertility rate in Europe.

And because * BEEP!! * ... euh, I mean, because the Albanian population has the highest fertility rate in Europe...

Hmm, mayby you should edit and remove the above part entirely from your post. There can also be said very much negative about Serbian realtions towards it's neighbours in recent history if one likes to point fingers.

Which ever side you stand on though, this is NOT the place to discuss it nor spread ones 'NSAP' viewpoints. I would not like this entire site become one huge racial flamewar.
