So i was thinking of doing an Orissa run for the tropical wood achievement. I seem to not be able to find any guides online for this one or the ones i can find are pretty outdated,. I also looked at the mission tree for Orissa which knida gives me like 1/5 of India max with all missions done.

So i was thinking: Should I stay as HIndu > Form Bharat (very slow grind) (Get the Sun never sets on Indian Empire) achievement along with it
OR
Slowly sneak my way to Persia > switch to Muslim + Culture shift > Form Mughals (SO OP) > Conquer the required provinces?

Also what ideas should I go for? Also when should I take exploration?
If Hindu, Religious comes to mind so I can deus vult everyone basically.
If Sunni, Humanist probably works well with Mughals.

The archivement is not so hard and you should not think to strange.
Just play and form Bharat, it has nice ideas and should work fine to get all provinces needed.

Bharat is stronger then it looks, go Admin Ideas for coring cost reduction and it should be fine.

You want to take exploration early rather than later as you'll have to go out and find all the colonies that randomly generate tropical wood as their trade good. The sooner you can get into Brazil/Columbia and stop other nations creating more targets to take the better off you'll be.

Update: It's 1533 and I basically conquered most of India through vassal feeding (It makes me wonder if True Heir of Timur is actually that difficult??;)). It really surprises me how many vassals I can make out of India so that I don't need permanaent claims. (All that's left is a Guajarat, Delhi and Malwa, all the other ones are basically my vassals). I'll go exploration idea next.

For people wondering: Orissa has a good government system suitable for "vassal feeding".
Here are all the vassals I've created before:
Assam (feed all Assamese land)
Gorkha (Feed all nepalese)
Guge (Feed Tibetian)
Oudh (Cores in Central Juanpur)
Tellingana (For East Bahmanis)
Bijapur (For South Bahmanis + North VJ)
Ahmenbar (West Bahmanis)
Madurai (Tamil, South VJ)

I could create Mewar after they died but since I got Deus Vult CB around 1510ish I just Holy War everyone except VJ.

One thing I find difficult in the beginning campaign is how crap my manpower regen is and my income is trash. So i highly recommend to spend 100 diplo to accept Bengali as an accepted culture asap since most of ur early income is from killing Bengal.

BTW Look at MING MAKRAN!!!

I just did the "True Heir of Timur" i think its a bit harder, but not by much. I did end it by 1543, but i was going too slow at start cause i was blocked by a big Dehli allied with Bengal.... i guess its a bit RNG and the Mughals Ideas are more for Coring then Diplo Feed.
I started once as Afghanistan and once as Trans to see which start is better.
I would say Trans. is the better start, you can instant ask for Support fom Mameluks and can declare directyl (hard war).
If you want a bit easier start you wait till Timurids rulers dies (usally in the first years) and ally all vassal but Afgahnistan. (You need the lands from them for Boarder with India.
Its a fun archivment, perhaps your next run.

On the contrary, afghanistan is able to get transoxiana and mamluks as allies at the start of the game (even on VH). Afghanistan is also better placed, has better defensive capability, and has a better trade node for indian conquest

Hm strange i tested it and i had to work to get both mameluks and trans. In the end i think it doesnt make much diffrent, as long as you can form Mughals fast.

11 November, 1444 with a dip rep advisor (loan taken since it was lvl 2)
1673139399552.png
65/66 acceptance with just religious diplomats and iqta dip rep. A dip rep advisor isn't necessary, as you can insult timurids and get support independence from mamluks once the diplomat returns in 4 days.
