I think the "Common Ground" origin, needs some real loving from the custodians.

I suggest the "Common Ground" origin should be a civilization consisting of two integrated "homeworlds" in two seperate systems (with two different species) instead of a Galactic Union Federation with the Diplomacy tradition tree adopted from the start (like in the "Hegemon-origin"). Each of the two distinct homeworlds should have its own species with its own distinct climate, traits etc., allowing worlds to be different like Arid and Continental.

This change would allow sci-fi scenarios like Humans on continental Earth and Vulcans on arid Vulcan (Star Trek), or Humans on Earth and Thranx on tropical Hivehom (from the Humanx Commonwealth-saga), or an Orwille-like scenarios with Humans from Earth and Xelayans from Xelayah.

These two planets and races should be united in a single state (not in a Galactic Union Federation), but with two distinct species living on two different homeworlds, like in the "Syncretic Evolution" origin. However, non of these two races/species should be servile, but the first of the races to be created would be the capital world.

There should not be any guaranteed worlds around, as this civilization already controls two full planets and systems, allowing it to potentially colonize two different types of worlds. with this new origin

I think this would make the "Common Ground" origin much more fun and different from any of the other origins.

    What do you think? ;)

    I think it's a bit overpowered.

Void Dwellers starts you off with three 'planets' but balances it out by having them only have ~9 pops each, and a -15% pop growth speed.

How would you balance out starting off with another, fully developed homeworld? How would you reason it if, for whatever reason, they didn't start off fully developed?

There would be no guaranteed planets around this civilization and it allows sci-fi scenarios like Humans on continental Earth and Vulcans on arid Vulcan, united in a single (con-)federal state. ;)

I don't mind if this origin would be a little overpowered, so are many of the origins. But maybe it could be nerfed a little by forcing this civilization to be Xenophile to some degree! :)
