Couldn't find any thread with this title, so here comes one historical and one gamey question.

The orders in the game are supposedly the Knight´s Templars, The Knights of St John, The Teutonic Order or the Order of Calatrava and the Order of Santiago.

I know some things about the first three, but what are/were the last two. Where were they based and what did they do?

And in game, will there likely be a difference between the orders, or will you treat them all the same.

Like, I'm Hungary, I want the Teutonic Order to move down here and crusade against my moslem enemies instead, or I'm Sweden and I want the Teutonic Order to be based in Finland instead.

If they will have other abilities is a question that likely will have to wait until we know if there are any other abilities to have in the game :)

Also, what will likely be needed to become head of an order, Power, Piety or Prestige? What will be the benefits, a free army, piety, prestige?

The orders of Calatrava (1158) and Santiago (1164) were based in Castilla (both of them), León and Portugal (Santiago) and fought mainly in the Reconquista.

The order of Calatrava was a fully military one, while the Order of Santiago was military/hospitaller.

I can't really see the Knights Templar bowing to any other authority than that of the Pope. :)

But, it's a very interesting question, though.

As those orders don't exist in 1066, maybe you can influence (bribe?) them to have them build their main castle in your estates. By granting them lands or such things...

More seriously, as a King/Duke/Emperor/or whatever ban the Militant orders from our lands? Or even destroy them by steel and trial like Philippe Le Bel did in France? 'Coz that could be interesting

Yes, I wonder if Friday 13th 1307 will be a hardcoded "universal" event. I mean, if the Templars aren't present in France at the moment, or even elsewhere, there's little need for such an event as the dissolving of the Knights Templar.
