Order of installation

I have just reinstalled Doomsday from my CD, but I am kinda confusered regarding the correct order of the patches and my bought expansion pack Armageddon.
Could someone please tell me the correct installation order from the installation of Doomsday and forward ?

Install in the following order

1. HOI2 DD
2. HOI2 Arma.
3. HOI2 Arma 1.2 patch (VBLV)
4 (Optional) HOI2 Arma 1.3 Beta Patch

Install 2 - 4 on top of the directory where 1 is installed.

Doomsday is a stand alone expansion, you do not need HOI2.

Ah well, I installed Hoi2 also since I had the anthology. So then, you do not patch DD though right? Only Arma?

The Anthology is a different deal.

With the Anthology all of the games are stand alone, you don't have to install Arma on top of Doomsday, and all except Arma are fully patched. The only patching you will need to do is to apply the 1.2 Armageddon patch; make sure the patch installer puts it in the right place, it still like to go to /Doomsday/Armageddon, with the Anthology it should be /Armageddon.

The 1.3 Beta patch is a nice addition too. Extract the RAR'ed files into your 1.2 Arma folder.

Well I think I screwedup with the 1.2 patch. I patched 1.2 to the default location, which I just noticed by running it again, is not the correct folder. I then installed 1.3 beta manually to the right spot. The game has run for me, but I have extreme lag and slowdown in the later years, and others have said that is fixed in 1.3beta with Arma, so I figure something must be wrong. Perhaps that is it? I supposed I should uninstall and reinstall everything.

Probably your best bet. There is a Sticky on the top of the Tech Support page on a manual uninstall if you have problems with it.

Just removed HOI2, DD and Arma. Reinstalled just DD and Arma. Installed 1.2 Arma patch by manually telling it to go to the Arma folder. Then installed 1.3beta over the Arma folder. Hopefully that will be better.

I honelstly hope that I am not hijacking this post, but if so please direct me to another post where I can find the correct answer.

I have just ordered HOI2 and thought it wise to join so long and learn from those who have such abounding experience as yourselves. I see this question however related to the one handled in this thread.

I would like to know whether I can just install the patch 1.3a and that this will then include all fixes of previous patches as well, or should I download all of them and install each in order?

This is not for DD or ARMA but just for HOI2. In a related matter I would like to know if you think that I should immediately install the patch or play with the original for a while first?
