Currently, only rulers following Islamic/Indian religions use their dynastic CoA for their primary title, while Christian rulers are often stuck with a CoA that doesn't fit them in any way: a successful Anglo-Saxon England still uses the Plantagenet CoA; a Greek or Norman Sicily uses the Hohenstaufen CoA, even if this dynasty never existed in this playthrough.

So why not implement a checkbox within the title customiser that allows the player to either use the standard CoA or they dynastic CoA for their primary title? For the AI, it could default to:
- use dynastic CoA for Muslims/Indian religions/Pagans
- use standard CoA for Christians

It would add much to immersion to have my dynasty's rule over a kingdom actuallly being represented by the kingdom's CoA.

The title coats of arms should be as customizable as the dynasty coats of arms.
I assumed adding that would be far more difficult to implement - that's why I suggested the above.

I can't see why. Switch to this one particular coat of arms vs. let me see every coat of arms in the game and pick one I like. The functionality is already there for family coats of arms. Can't see how it's a difficult to copy that code over.

You can actually mod that in, not sure if it affects Ironman though.

Agree with changing CoAs for Christians dynamically, great. As for muslim and indian dynastic CoAs, as a side-note, tell me how often do you see any of these in any CK2 game when each is not owned by it's real-life dynastic demense holders?

rn9rKHs.png

Each is readily identifiable -we all know to which dynasties these images are associated -but they are absent because CoAs (a western tradition) are here interchangable with 'flags', which is an absurd state of affairs but understandable -only a few dynastic 'flags' are truly known (amongst surely hundreds) outside of western europe where personal heraldry was the norm; even the ERE eschewed heraldry as we know it. The game has simply outgrown it's CK1 western-focused roots and this current DDS soup is a mess frankly. Lets make use of the existing Ottoman or Pandya or Safavid or what-have-you 'flags' already in the gfx folder, properly.

Ok, given my, sadly limited, knowledge of flags and CoAs, plus some googling. I'm pretty sure the first and thrid are Ottoman, the second is a version of the Seljuk flag, and the forth belongs to the Khazars.

I'm sadly at a loss as to the last one is.
