option to change rules in ironman save

Spent whole day to play byzantine empire to restore rome with defensive pacts ON. now i realised that this feature makes it near impossible to achieve my goal, i mean holy war against muslims makes my christian fellows hate me. and ofc waiting and doing nothing for years is super fun. i gain 50% just by doing one holy war, holy shit.
sry for ranting here but there should be an option to change that, it would still make the game ironman compatible ofc, but i didnt know what i did, have mercy.

The problem with changing the rules ingame is that you can abuse it to your benefit. You can turn defensive pacts off while you're on a conquest spree, and turn them on when your rivals try the same. You can turn shattered retreat off when you are winning battles, and on when you are loosing them. Make epidemics more deadly when they hit your rivals, and less deadly when they hit you... You see how easy it would be to exploit changing the game rules ingame, and thus I don't think it should be allowed.

Was going to say, it's really hard to find yourself without something to do during a Byzzie game with defensive pacts turned on.

Muslims hate me? Focus on Italy.
Christians and Muslims hate me? Focus on Pagans.
Everyone hates me? Focus on the rebelling parts of empires/kingdoms around you that haven't joined a pact yet.
Everyone in a pact? Tear your least liked vassals a new one and tidy up internal borders.
All of the above are not applicable? No worries! You're the Byzantine Empire, more than capable of dealing with any threat pact!
