Hi,

Small Q. It´s me or the game has bad optimization? Im on a Ryzen 7 2700x+16gb@2800 + rtx2080 = 45fps at 4k.....im getting 80+ at BF5.....the game is very playable and looks beatiful but it looked like few fps...

Cheers!

Game is quite optimized in my opinion (45fps is great in 4K tbh, for games like this you wouldn't notice the difference if it was 120) but you really can't compare HBS's games to EA's because EA spends millions on optimizing their games so people with potatoes can still play their games even if their PC aint up to snuff. If they didn't, people wouldn't be able to play or play at the settings they enjoy ie. high/ultra which means no money for EA because people won't buy the game. In fact I'd argue they spend more on optimizing their games than they do into actually making the games because every game they've put out in the last 5-10 years has looked and bench marked great but that's all, gameplay/replay value/plot seems to be low on their priorities or absent all together.

What I find interesting is, that the game needs way longer to boot since Flashpoint got released.

Known bug mentioned in the faq.

as for the framerate, it has been stated before by the Devs that resolutions above 1080p will potentially tank your performance.

Can't comment on others experiences but I don't have an AMD processor or a 2080.
I have an I7 4770k and a Gtx 780 ac/sc. For my part, my system has excellent performance at 1440p.

For a brand new card like that you might be waiting for an Nvidia driver update rather.

Personally, my laptop is great at 1080...I wish I could pull off 4K, let alone had something to display that 4K on.....BattleTech deserves the best.....

It's strange to be honest. Haven't played since I went through the campaign back in 1.0. Could have sworn I run it back then on default settings without any noticeable issues. When I came back for Flashpoint the game felt a bit choppy. I fixed that (seemingly) by turning AA off and Bloom to low, but the jungle biome dropped performance enough for some reason to cause audio issues.

So either I remember wrong, and I had some video options turned down (and then some patch reset them), or something did change under the hood in the meantime.

That's why I specifically mentioned that my new GTX 1060 gets 70+ fps on that biome; it gave my old GTX 760 the death-shivers (dipping down to single-digit fps at times, and low teens in-between; seriously, it was PowerPoint combat).

What do you do with more FPS than that anyway? It's not a racing game.

I know im lucky to have a good rig, dont get wrong i did not intended to sound as a complain more of a question to see if someone knew something like X option kill frame rate and dont bring that much eye candy. Off course even with less fps the game will be great its a TBS xD

There were some issues at launch with GPU loads spiking like crazy. I think most of those were resolved (or at least improved...).

One of the options I know that helped me out was to turn of the "High Quality GUI" (something like that). From what I could tell, the menus/GUI were over processing or something and eating GPU bandwidth, even on high-end rigs. I'm not saying that's still happening, but you might try options like that and see what you get.
