As the title says, what's the optimal weapon of choice, holy weapon/hermetic handgun/smithed weapon for those Emperor tier characters:

-Hellenic Greek Roman Emperor, staring on 769 as (custom) Byzantine Emperor (This rules out all Christian artifacts).
-Catholic Castilian Hispanic Emperor, staring on 867 as (custom) king of Asturias.
-Hindu Indo-Afghan Samrat Chakravartin, starting on 867 as (semi-custom) raja of Jangladesh.
-Orthodox Russian Tsar, starting on 867 as Rurik.

How do you start as the Roman Empire in 769? Generally you have to expand significantly as the Byzantine Empire before you can create Rome.

Or do you simply mean Roman culture?

No, no the start date doesn't mean that I started as such empire, it means that I ended up with that title later...I'll have to fix that.

I think that you can have a golden scimitar if you're on India, if I'm not mistaken. For Hispania or Russia i could use the Spear of Destiny, but I'm afraid that isn't available before the 1066 start/until a Crusader targeting Jerusalem happens. I'm loss with the Hellenic one.

To be fair, the Spear of Longinus is an actual Roman spear, but sadly, is Christian only.
Yes but for the non-christian romans it's "just a spear" and for the christians it's "the spear that pierced to body of Jesus Christ!"

As for what weapon is best it depends, the handgun is quite nice (+25 combat skill) but there are others, the forged ones aren't very good if you have alternatives. If you want to compare them ingame you can start a new game and type get_all_artifacts in the console.

With bloodlines able to have some effects locked behind religion while other are general

Maybe we should do the same with items

Let the hellenics use the spear, but comes with a morale damage bonus against christian troops?

Hmm, how comes that Hellenics have absolutely no artifacts? They had a lot of special items on their Mythology: The Golden Fleece, Pandora's Box, Pygmalion's statue, Orpheus lyre, Poseidon/Neptune's trident, Hades/Pluto's helmet, etc.

They also had the famous Mars' sword...that somehow ended up in Attila's hands. Now that I think about it, I would be cool if a Hellenic Greek or Roman character with a emperor-tier title, in a realm that holds either Hungary (Attila's base) or France (Mars' sword is said to having been lost at Chalons) finds said sword.

I'd love hellenic artefacts. I think they didn't add them, because, aside from being a secondary issue, they might have wanted to wait how people perceived hellenism in the first place.

A lot of people were against it, in previous discussions, so much so there is a game rule to disable it.

Hopefully they will add them. Both Greek and Roman.
