Hello everyone!

So I'm playing a Mayan Mughals campaign at the moment; and I'm wondering what the optimal trade set up in the Indian area would be. My capital is in the New World so I can make all of India a trade company if needed. I will soon own all of the India region, but for now not much else nearby. What should I do to maximise my income?

Thanks in advance!

My preferred way of handling Asian trade is to colonize the cape to turn Zanzibar into a pseudo endnode, then funnel India, China, SE Asia, Oceania into Aden then collect in Zanzibar (have your trade capital here), you should be able to funnel some of your new world trade into E Asia through California and Mexico.

You're going to want to trade company all of Asia ASAP.

Thank you for the response! Yes I have seen that work in the past for others, and it is likely my goal in the long run. However, this set-up will require a lot of conquering, so in the meantime I'm wondering what to do with my merchants in India. I have made trade companies in all of my provinces. Here's a screenshot if it helps:

Bengal will be conquered in the next decade or so, as will the irritating Portuguese enclave in Goa.

Too bad for the TC bug or you would had more traders, but with the current amount of traders I think you have put it on the best place. Maybe try to steer from Ceylon to Goa.

If Portugal only has that one province that you want to conquer, threaten war is a good option and time saver.

If you have enough merchants, I'd probably just collect everywhere. Otherwise put a merchant in the Delhi node so the trade doesn't go to Samarkhand, and collect by the western coast.
