Ladies and Gentlemen of the Business Press, thank you for coming today.

Operational Security Incorporated is pleased and proud to annouce that Mr. Michael Lundgren, National Assembly member and noted businessman, intends to invest a substantial sum in the capitalization of OSI. Mr. Lundgren's investment will more than treble the value of the company, and makes OSI one of the strongest security companies in Eutopia today. In return, Mr. Lundgren will have a seat on the OSI board, and will acquire a significant percentage of stock in the company.

OSI's future was already bright; it is now incandesent. When we are awarded the hospital security contract, as I am certain we shall be, OSI shall demonstrate to all Eutopia what we stand for: Professionalism, experience, and discretion.

After Mr. Lundgren has a chance to speak, we will take questions from the press.

Indeed i am investing a large sum of money. My father was always interested in security and keeping people safe. In a time such as ours, when there are all sorts of threats, even threats to medical supplies, we cant afford to let security down. We cant let our guard down and with this investment of 10,000,000$ we hope to help empower OSI to be the security force this nation needs to keep its people and vitals safe. Thank you.

The news of the general strike in the Latin provinces opens up a hive of activity at OSI. Dr. Yuri Voshkod is constantly on the phone with the owners of major businesses in those areas, offering immediately security for facilities and owners against the threats posed by strikers, vandals and saboteurs. Also, should escorts for strike-breakers be needed, OSI will be there.

Voshkod stands out and shouts to the staff: "Come on, people! There's strife, so there's money to be made! Land some contracts!!"

A sudden silence descends over OSI headquarters when the Minister makes his announcement: "Operational Security, Incorporated has been awarded the MHES contract to provide security for EUtopia's hospitals and clinics. Thank you."

Cheers erupt, champaign is poured, and Doctor Yuri Voshkod raises his glass: "To Operational Security Incorporated! The beginning of our greatness!"

Everyone drains their glasses. "Now back to work; there are a lot of people in the Latin Provinces that needs guns right now.

"Ive been told to give you any information you need on the bidding for Marticon assets, feel free to ask any questions, Ill do what I can to answer them.

"Thank you for calling, Minister Vilms. I would like to know a couple of things.

1) Does Marticon have any Roll-on/Roll-off transport vessels that are being sold as part of this deal?

2) What are the minimum bids for the three segments of Marticon?

[OOC: I don't expect actual numbers; I'm curious whether OSI, with current capitalization approaching $15 million, would be in any position to bid.]

Voshkod calls his executive assistant. "Ms. McKeena, please reserve a private jet at Eutopia City airport. Gulfstream V with extended fuel range. Tell them they need to be ready for take-off on fifteen minutes notice. Tell them to file a flight plan for the Azores. Money is not a concern, but I do not want any questions."

He then calls his security chief. "Captain Doyle, double the guards at all entrances, make sure they have shotguns. If anyone tries to get in claiming to be police or SAW, demand a warrant. If they can't produce, escort them from the property. If they can produce, stop them until you've called Cohen at legal counsel and me. Cohen will tell you what to do next."

What is that American saying? Ah, yes, be prepared.

Voshkod hangs up after talking to Mr. Marine. The pieces fall into place quickly.

First, the President announces SAW is looking into ENDTech. Second, Marine is panicking, even when discussing legitimate business. Conclusion? SAW is pressuring Marine, and he's going to crack like the river ice in May.

He picks up the phone, dials his assistant. "Ms. McKeena. If the aircraft is ready, please head over to my apartment and collect all papers, business and personal, and bring them to my office."

Next, Accounting. "Ms Berthold, immediate action. Pull all company funds out of Eutopian accounts, except what's needed to cover payroll. Transfer them to our Cayman accounts. Do it now."

Next, Legal. "Cohen. I need you to set up a Cayman shell company; call it Operational Security International. Directors are you, McKeena, Doyle, and me. Transfer ownership of all OSI property to the shell. Immediate action."

Next, Command Center. "Command. Check the records for account 000001, Marine's house. Did we have an alert of an sort from that house?"

Finally, his assistant. "Ms. McKeena, before you leave, patch me through to the Mayor of Buen Puerto please."

Mr. Voshkod, I am sorry for what I said earlier, I have to admit I have panicked and acted unreasonably, not that I would have to be afraid of something but who wouldn't panick when bunch of guys storm building when I work and when I come home my home was looted? Mr. Voshkod, I'd like to invite you back to our usual place, to discuss once again certain things with mr. Mayor.

I'd prefer to stay at OSI HQ today, Mr. Marine. But I'll call in to the Mayor's office on my secure line, and we can talk.

And, by the way, Mr. Marine: The men in black can usually smell fear. If you act confident, they go away. I learned that from the experts: the KGB. This little SAW is but a pale reflection of the Cheka.

Are you certain that you don't want OSI personnel to examine your house and reestablish security? Also, your bodyguards called in telling me you had dismissed them. Is that wise at this time?

Voshkod takes out his pistol and begins loading it with frangible rounds.

Dr. Yuri Voshkod's bellows echoed through the OSI complex.

"I do not care, Ms. McKeena, find von Maazarin, find that son of a bitch, get him on the phone! Find him! Then get me Tilly on the phone." He slammed the receiver down.

He looked at the two files on his desk. Carlos Herrara, wife Maria, two children, Carlos, Jr. and Dorotea, ages 8 and 4. Jonathan Breckenridge, wife Susan, currently pregnant.

He lifted the phone again, started to dial the contact number for Maria Herrara. Dear God, how many times have I had to do this? It should be easier; these are just mercenaries, gunsels, not my loyal troops, right? His fingers stopped, the number half-dialed. Those were my men!

He stood up. "Doyle! Bring the car around. Now!"

He marched out of his office, past his executive assistant's desk. She was still calmly trying various numbers for von Maazarin. "Find him, Ms. McKeena. And patch Tilly through to the mobile in ten minutes."

He marched out of the building to his sedan, climbed in. Doyle was already in side, in the front passenger seat. "Where to, sir?"

I would kill you both for a vodka right now, Voshkod thought bitterly. "Herrara's house. Then Breckenridge's apartment."

The car glided out of the OSI compound. He picked up his phone. "Cohen! Make sure that the insurance payments on Herrara and Breckenridge are issued promptly. Get some people down there to see if the families need anything else. Give me an hour with them first."

As he ended that call, the phone rang again. It was McKeena. "Minister Tilly's office, sir."

"Yuri? Listen, I was about to call you. I just heard word of your men, myself. I don't have any leads, yet. We just started our investigation. What the devil is this all about? Why, if these are two of your trained operatives, is this the first we're hearing about it?"

"We're gonna need their personnel files, pronto. What job were they on?"

Dr. Yuri Ivanovich Voshkod, what is this i find out of 2 OSI men dead washed ashore in our country? what were these men doing that would have them end executed and dumped in the ocean? these worries me a lot... are you providing security for shipping companies now or something?

(you are unhappy with the mile but ml only knows that your head man at osi and 2 men are dead in weird circumstances. he doesnt know whether you are involved in their deaths or not.)

"Command Center, get me von der Kaas. What do you mean he's off the net? Then get me anyone at the warehouse! I see."

Voshkod turns to Doyle. "The entire warehouse contingent is off the net. I'm going to kill that bastard von Maazarin." The phone rang.

"Voshkod. Ah, Mr. Lundgren. No, I'm as concerned as you are. I'm going to meet the widows first, then I'd like to meet with you and Tilly at the Tearoom. Two hours."

Haynes comes wandering in and interupts some receptionist
"Excuse me but I am looking for a Dr. Yuri Voshkod."

A somewhat harried looking Voshkod comes into the room.

"General Haynes, thank you for taking the time to come over."

He shakes Haynes' hand.

"Yes, I know you are technically a Major now, but once a General, always a General.

"General Haynes, I'm having a hectic day, and I'm certain that, fresh out of prison, you have other things you'd rather be doing, so I'll be brief. I need a former high-ranking officer to run OSI's military assistance division. You'd be in command of 200 men, all well-trained and experienced military personnel, and I expect that number to go up. You would help seek out potential contracts around the world. You would be on the ground in the middle of civil wars, rebellions, guerilla movements, and terrorist attacks, advising our clients, training their troops, fighting their wars. It's high risk, high pay, and high responsibility. I've read your record, and I think you can do it.

"That's why I wanted to talk. Interested?"

"I can't say I would be of any use to such an operation, I have no experience dealing with matters concerning land warfare, my experience is with air matters, flying and airforce organisation and the such, It is indeed a tempting offer but I have many things to consider sir. I thankyou for your gifts whilst I was locked away and for your offer, but I shall have to consider many things. I will get back to you in a week or so Doctor Voshkod, under more comfortable circumstances I hope."
