In a low-rise office park in Eutopia City, Operational Security Incorporated (OSI) opens its door. Under the leadership of Colonel General (Ret.) Dr. Yuri Ivanovich Voshkod, former director of ENDTech, it offers the following services (according to its still somewhat bare-bones website):

- Home Security: OSI security consultants, the majority of which are former police officers, will come to your home, analyze your security situation, and recommend home security solutions. OSI will also offer a line of home security technologies, such as cameras, alarm systems, and security locks. For an additional fee, your alarm system can be linked to the OSI Command Center, where an immediate response to any emergency in your home can be formulated.

- Personal Security: OSI personal security consultations can be hired on a daily, hourly, or contract basis. Our personal security personnel are all low-profile, and proficient in small arms and unarmed combat. Most have been trained in the security forces of their home countries, such as the United States Secret Service.

- Facility Security: OSI security consultants can be hired to protect factories, airports, gated communities, and any other facility (mobile or otherwise). Well dressed and courteous, they will police and protect the facility and its occupants from all threats.

- Military Solutions: If your troops need better training, you need advice on how to stomp out a nasty little brushfire war, or the natives are restless and trying to blow up your pipeline, call OSI for top-notch military advisors and planners. OSI's central location on beautiful Eutopia ensures that we can get "boots on the ground" anywhere in Africa, South and North America, and Europe within sixteen hours of initial payment. Deployments to more distant locations may take up to thirty-six hours.

Why OSI?

Our location: With headquarters in Eutopia City, and branch offices opening around the nation, we can respond to your needs quickly.

Our professionalism: All of our personnel involved in personal security or law enforcement missions have access to the full spectrum of force options, from less-than-lethal weapons (always preferred!) to the latest in firearms. We will tailor our response to your needs, and we will always remember that the customer is right.

Our experience: All of our personnel are either law enforcement or military veterans. Our leadership cadre has over 100 years of military and police experience.

Our promise: Professionalism, experience, discretion.

Call our Headquarters for more information.

Dr. Voshkod, TIT Labs would greatly like to work with your company, but unfurtunately I will soon take a seat in Eutpia's National Assembly. My time will be limited and my business operations will remain dormant for some time, maybe a month or two, which may be an obstacle to a project of magnitude as the one you proposed.
(OOC: I'm not sure I'll have time, but anyway, what did you plan on the weapon? If it's not too time-consuming I could still keep TIT Labs operational)

There is a disturbing lack of business as Markinson Security (owned by LCRR) dominates the professional security industry and has sewn up most of the lucrative clients into long-term contracts.

Well, then, it appears that Markinson is in need of some strong competition. We will underbid them every time their contracts some up for renewal. We shall show our expertise and skill.

And, if all else fails, we'll rely more on our Military Assistance department to secure overseas contracts.

[OOC: How does one go about making overseas contacts in Eutopia, anyway?]

Good day, Mr. Marine. Welcome to our new offices. We'd be proud to supply a member of the government with home and personal security services. Do you feel any particular threat against you, or the generalized threat that faces most officeholders? What sort of house do you own? What terrain is it on, and how far from town?

On another matter, OSI may need some warehouse and port space. Airport space, also. Can you ask the mayor, when you see him next, what may be available in your fair city?

Mr. Temnyalov, thank you for coming by. What we are looking for, and what we hope TIT can provide, is a three barrelled electronic smart handgun. Each barrel should contain ten rounds. One barrel is for pepper-balls, one for lethal armor piercing rounds, and one for frangible rounds. The weapon should only be fireable by its registered user, using some sort of identification technology, such as thumbprint or transponder.

Personally, as OSI is willing to front most of the development money, I think this is a great deal for TIT. Once the public sees a few crimes stopped by OSI operatives using non-lethal rounds, they will clamour for the police to get similar weapons.

What do you think?

Well mr. Voshkod it's a rather general threat against my person. As for my house. It's quite far from the city about 2 or 3 Km from Buen Puerto, on a small hill. But I travel a lot to foreign countries. My house is rather small, I would describe it as typical family house, two floors. Downstairs is Kitchen, Living room, and upstairs is my bedroom, study and bathroom. House has door to the garden.

Mr. Marine: For your personal protection, I recommend a package of two guards. One would act as your driver. They will accompany you 24/7 when you are outside of your house. They will be armed with non-lethal tasers and concealed pistols. They would also keep some heavier weapons in your car.

Regarding your house, our security specialists have examined it and recommend the following:

Break detectors on all windows and alarms on all doors.

Presuming you have no pets or small children, we also recommend a motion detector system in each room, to be activated when you will be absent for some time.

We do not recommend any perimeter defense, as your house is away from the city (animals tend to set them off).

If you purchase the combined package of home defense and personal defense, we will, free of charge, connect your alarm system to our Command Center for swifter response.

Finally, if information security is a concern, we have a package where our trained security specialists will sweep your house, office, and computers for listening devices and other data collectors.

Thank you for coming by, and please let me know if you are interested.

Dr. Voshkod, I am not at all concerned with the financial side of the deal. I will get a temporary substitute while I am busy with the Parliament. We will decide in a day or two, but I am inclined to take the deal.

(OOC: well, as a newbie... some advice could be useful... i'm not much into weapons, so is there anything i MUST do? or is it all up to me? i cant just find a brand new weapon in my lawn or get the idea while bathing :D :D :D )

The matter has become moot, Mr. Temnyalov, for I've been informed by MILE that the proposed weapon would be considered a class I firearm, and therefore illegal, except as a collector's piece.

I am sorry that this transaction cannot occur. May I ask, for my own curiousity, how many jobs such a research and manufacturing contract would have created?

TIT Labs' branch in Eutopia is still not fully developed and currently we do not employ many Eutopians. The size of the office will depend heavily on the orders we receive and my own commitment to the National Assembly.
The project would perhaps have opened at least several dozen research positions, probably more, if the order was to be dealt with quickly.

After all, I am glad we know the project is pointless before we actually began working on it.

Dr. Voshkod,

Just how many security personnel are employed by OSI? There are MANY, MANY hospitals and clinics throughout EUtopia. I believe you asked for 250 permits of hand weapons from the MILE. Is this the total amount of security officers at your 'command'?

Dear Mr. Voshkod.

I own a small warehouse just outside Neuwestbaden, as my own security force is to small to deal with its protection, I wish to employ Your Facility Security.
The contents are quite simple, it contains some extremely valuable objects that I do not want to fall into the, let us say wrong hands.
The guards HAS to be impressing too keep everything out of the compound.
I trust that you deal with this with upmost security.

Yours truly

Mr. Marine, meet Pieter and David. They will escort you home as your new security presence. Our home security specialists are on their way to your house as we speak. Thank you for becoming OSI's first customer.

Captain Martinez, with your experience we would probably start you at 70,000 ducats yearly. You would be eligible for a 20% increase for time spent out of Eutopia, 20% more for time spent in "unpleasant" environments (extreme heat or cold, etc.), 20% additional for time spent in combat zones, 20% additional for time spent under hostile fire, and finally 20% additional at the discretion of the company.

Miltary solutions personnel are generally based in Eutopia City, but must be on-call for ten hour deployment out of our Buen Puerto facility.

Minister: 250 applications was my initial staff when the amount of work was unclear. I can rapidly scale up my staff to any necessary number. The only real delay may be processing the firearms licenses, but we did allow for that in our proposal.

Mr. von. Maazarin: From what you've told me, my initial assessment would be that we would want a team of 6 guards armed with shotguns (1 monitoring cameras, three patrolled, 2 resting) to secure a small warehouse. Further, we would want to install a full array of cameras, including infrared cameras, motion-detectors, door and window alarms and, if your budget allows, various biometric security devices. I assume you have fencing in place. We'll want to replace it with eight foot razor wire, electrified.

If you would like to discuss the situation or the contents in a more secure enviroment, please step this way to our secure conference room (OOC - PM me).

Thank you.
