Operation husky

Hi!
I'm wondring why the invation of Italy was called just operation "Husky"?
Thankfull for advices.

Well techinically Operation Husky refers only to the invasion of Sicily. The landings at Salerno were part of Operation Avalanche while the landings in the toe of Italy were Operation Baytown. And all this was covered by the deception plan(s) Operation Mincemeat/Barclay.

Edit Apparently though the whole invasion of Italy at the time was referred to as Operation Husky in the British Press so this might be one of the reasons why you may be a bit confused
