I just started playing HOI and was curious if anyone would be willing to share some of their opening strategies for the 1936 campaign.
For example I was debating the merits of building Industries in every european france territory during the first year with the exception of extending the Maginot line.

Is this worth it? I guess I would have the same question for germany, uk, russia etc...

Thanks

A good rule of thumb which most veteran players seem to use is to constantly upgrade any province with less than 5 IC. Once you reach 5 IC, there seems to be an increasingly lower bang for your buck which brings diminishing returns. Always make sure that you have enough resources to handle the bump in industrial output, though. It's useless to have alot of factories without the raw materials to fuel them.

Sometimes when I'm playing the US and I feel adventurous, I increase the IC in all mainland territories, since the amount of IC that goes on to consumer goods doesn't really leave any for science/military, so investing it in IC instead gives me an extra 80ish base IC to play with when I do finally get to do some serious spending.
