Also on the subject of Federations, ever since I left the federation I was in, and formed one of my own, I've been getting odd alerts. An alert flag with the federation icon will appear in the upper left of the screen, but when I click on it, a message flickers onto my screen for a split second, barely long enough for me to be able to tell that there was anything there. I have no idea what those alerts are for, as the flag doesn't have a tooltip, and there is no way for me to read the message pop up.

for distance claculations it only counts your homeland not the harbors you have access to.

is the a a bug or a "feature" ?

"feature" - as per 1.4.1.1 patch notes (these patch notes only show the difference from 1.4.1.1 to 1.4.1.2), Fleet Basing no longer provides colonial or coring range.

It was added in v1.4.1.1

Fleet basing rights no longer gives colonization range.

Did you run that comparison from 1.4.1 (non beta) to 1.4.1.2 (beta)? I.e. the full changes of both betas, rather than the changes of this beta specifically?

Because e.g. common/buildings/00_buildings.txt has not changed in 1.4.1.2 relative to 1.4.1.1:

Natives in NA do not despawn either - they just stay in empty provinces...

Still no fix for not being able to colonize provinces bordering your colonial nations? Damn. :(
Correct, you still can't base new colonies from your colonial nation subjects. This is true in a save started on 141 release and loaded into 141.2. It's also true of a save started on 141.1, transferred to 141 release (so that I could start a 6th colony), then reloaded into 141.2.

I'm not sure if this sounds like a trivial or esoteric complaint on paper, but if you play it out it's really obviously not working as intended. Start a game as Portugal on this beta and rush to establish Colonial Brazil, you'll understand immediately. Either colonial nations should share colonial range (i.e. behavior in 1.0 through 1.4), or your owned colonies should not (i.e. Africa is going to need a lot of diplo tech to colonize, even as Portugal). It's completely bizarre that establishing your 5th colony in a region causes a massive reduction in the number of territories your colonists can reach.

Thanks to PDS for making it so easy to load the beta patch and to revert it back to the current release patch. It makes playing around with the beta more fun to know there's a simple button that makes it go away.

The Ai still has trouble annexing Vassals - despite having free diplomats they don't use them to improve relations and thereofr never reach 190 Relations. (Happend to GB with Tyrone and to France with Several of its starting vassals.

And despite Having Colonist Colonial Nations do not colonize because they "only" make 3-4 ducats/month... (I'd understand if Nativnation donot colonize that aggressivly as it would screw NA colonitation, but the COlonialnation should do this...)

And the Ai still ahs trouble returning Exciled Units there is an Caribias Stack standing in Portugese Mexico since 150 years in my current game.

Does royal marriages break on ruler death for anyone else? (the death of the ruler I have a royal marriage with, not my own rulers death, as that seems to do nothing)

The new naval invasion AI just lead to the Ottomans going all the way to The Channel to send their invasion force to Kent. Their closest port was Corfu, so they are about 6 weeks out of supply range, not to mention the time it takes to unload troops. Given that they had to face an almost equal force in battle on the way there, I'm pretty sure they would have sunk if they took attrition like a human.

That's rather... interesting. Not sure if I could actually jump to a non-editable save because of players who miss a session often requiring "edits" to make up for AI errors, but that actually makes playing a random new world that is actually secret from players a real possibility.

I would say yes, it adds a ton of new stuff, it feels so more complete than the normal version (1.5 is going to be great!)
