Yup, and they failed a bit at that, but a hotfix is a second-best option.

Shouldn't you make sure that a patch or expansion doesn't cause problems before releasing it?

Most companies only have a handful of QA testers, the large ones maybe a couple dozen. That's nothing compared to have thousands upon thousands of people playing the game, some in ways the devs/QA guys haven't even considered.

Paradox games always have a couple of gamebreaking bugs with new updates, especially large ones like 2.0, but then again a lot of other games have the same problem. However, there aren't that many games out there where the devs go directly on the forum to talk with the players and fix these bugs as soon as possible like PI does.

Really glad to see the Jews having their own interface. Does anyone have an idea how moddable this UI is? If I put as much files in it as the pagan and muslim interface, could I reskin the whole interface? Or are only the files in the subfolder moddable?

I have the patch right here, and they have a slightly modified interface, similar to how the Zoroastrian interface was done. Personally, I plan to at the very last replace the stained glass in the religious panel. While the cross had been replaced, there's still a rather noticeable priest in it.
It is handled like a tiny reskin, so it's possible to mod it.
Ah, but not expand it?

Yes, you can expand it. :)

From my own experimentation any file you drop into jews_interface that has a corresponding file in the main interface folder overwrites the main one for jewish characters. You could in theory completely overhaul the interface appearance for jews this way.

For example, I disagreed with the menorah being used as a crusade flag, I think it's not appropriate to use a "temple" symbol for a martial flag (ok I know the flags just have the religious icon on them but still :p) so I switched it for an only slightly ahistorical shield of david;

Creating anti-popes should be very difficult to do. Every Catholic King level ruler should have a CB on any Catholic who has created an Anti-Pope. Pressing this CB and removing the Anti-Pope should massively improve your relation with the current Pope.

Antipopes should be the realm of the powerful.

Absolutely love this idea.

From my own experimentation any file you drop into jews_interface that has a corresponding file in the main interface folder overwrites the main one for jewish characters. You could in theory completely overhaul the interface appearance for jews this way.

For example, I disagreed with the menorah being used as a crusade flag, I think it's not appropriate to use a "temple" symbol for a martial flag (ok I know the flags just have the religious icon on them but still :p) so I switched it for an only slightly ahistorical shield of david;

Although this just replaces an existing file, you can more than likely drop in whatever you want and it will replace the corresponding main file on the jewish characters.

That's a pretty sexy star.

Creating anti-popes should be very difficult to do. Every Catholic King level ruler should have a CB on any Catholic who has created an Anti-Pope. Pressing this CB and removing the Anti-Pope should massively improve your relation with the current Pope.

Antipopes should be the realm of the powerful.
The historical disincentive for anti-popes was anti-kings, not a free-for-all. Instead, let a powerful vassal get a claim on the ruler's throne.

I second this, in addition to making the position of antipope non-heritable. Between the ability to attack a ruler because of their antipope and the chance that an antipope will die and leave you with nothing more than bad relations with the pope himself, it'll be a more balanced, more historical, and more interesting strategy.

I'd even go so far to say that the CB should be available to vassals of an antipope-holding ruler as well as other independent rulers, so that raising an antipope is also a source of friction for an otherwise happy realm.

Yeah, and the historical disincentive for excommunication was the same, or at least the disintegration of the realm, but we still have the Excommunication CB in there. One's just easier and more straightforward than the other.
