I don't think you understand. Right now kings are making Antipopes constantly for no reason. Remove the broken Catholic MA and Catholicism will break down due to multiple Antipopes being around all the time.

If you don't want to add proper mechanics to the Antipopes, then the hotfix needs to disable the AI creating them.

This is probably the best fix, until better Antipope mechanics can be worked out. Either that or the combination of making them not have successors and decreasing the probability / increasing the cost of the AI creating an Antipope.

Just wondering, if I played w the 2.0 patch, and saved, and when the real 2.0.1.0 (not this beta) comes out and gets installed, will it in any way make my save from 2.0 weird? Like changing my dynasty flags, or any ai in the game? basically will the save game improvise from 2.0 to 2.0.1.0 or will it stay w the mechanics of 2.0? thanks

I anticipate no problems, but it can never be 100% guaranteed.

As long as Antipopes aren't tweaked so that they can be removed by other rulers and vassals of the liege who instituted the Antipope, I'm going to keep them disabled.

Can you tell how exactly you do this? I tried raising the prestige costs for establishing an anti pope to 5000 in the defines.lua, but the game won't start after I did this. Starting the new defines.lua as mod didn't work either.

We will take a look at this, but it's not hotfix material.

Can I make a few suggestions?

- Abandon Antipope CB. In as much as other rulers get a excommunicated ruler cb on an excommunicated character, a catholic ruler can get an abandon antipope cb on a character with an Antipope.

- A recognise button for every pope/antipope.

- The ability for characters in realms with an antipope to recognise the real pope, and to take part in a papal faction that overthrows the king and replaces him with a pro-papal candidate.

Regarding anti-popes, there really should be a choice for independent rulers to pick either the Pope or one of the anti-popes to support, giving a CB against the realm of the popes you don't support. This way anti-popes can be removed, or a nation which doesn't have an anti-pope itself, can still support another nation with installing their respective anti-pope.

Creating anti-popes should be very difficult to do. Every Catholic King level ruler should have a CB on any Catholic who has created an Anti-Pope. Pressing this CB and removing the Anti-Pope should massively improve your relation with the current Pope.

Antipopes should be the realm of the powerful.

So you release a patch which needs a hotfix in the same week? this is gothic 3 style..

Thats because PI's patches don't only fix stuff but also add new features (especially the ones that come alongside the expansion) and change some of game's very design. And whenever something is added or design changed, bugs are unavoidable thus why a hotfix appears in the same week as a patch.
