Hello everyone!

We have setup a new opt-in open beta branch for Barbarossa, again named open_beta. If the branch does not appear, restarting Steam should fix it.
This is meant for the brave souls who want to try out the upcoming fixes & balance changes early.
As for previous open betas, this branch is a work-in-progress that has yet to go through our full release QA process, so while we try to keep relatively stable you may experience new issues or crashes.

Going forward we hope to be able to release hotfixes on a more regular schedule, roughly once a month, starting with an Open Beta (like this one) followed by a proper Live release in the following week(s). Before you all jump on the "reply" button with a list of issues, please keep in mind that we do not plan to have a fully dedicated staff for those releases (like the Stellaris Custodians) at the moment. Most of team's time will still be spent reworking [REDACTED] and making a new focus tree for [REDACTED].

Feel free to leave your feedback in this thread or in the bug report forum as usual, especially if you encounter new issues not present in 1.11.8, or if something marked as fixed in the below changelog still occurs for you.

Current speculation points heavily to an Air Rework and Italy Focus Tree.

Ok, but when will the major Ai issues ne addressed?
What about the paradropper bug where they never airdrop that has been present sincer v 1.00?
Or the fact that Ai still does minor amphibius invasions wasting manpower and eq with no logic?

We are having difficulties merging NSB since a lot of stuff is dependant on checking if a minister slot is filled D:

@MatRopert, 2 years ago I have reported a list of typos in the localisations for Czechoslovakia that are yet to be fixed. Here is the link to the bug report. I hope these localisation issues can be finally taken care off since they have been in the code for so long. They can be done rather quickly so it should not be too much of a hassle.

There's some problem with the default non-historical AI behaviour of Britain. When they go 'a change in course" they tend to stay democratic forever regardless. They will never choose between the focuses to go monarchy/fascist/communist. I don't know what causes this unfortunately as when i set Britain to go with either of the ahistorical ideologies in the game options it works fine. Also this problem wasn't there before Barbarossa.

Very nice to hear about the plan to make monthly hot fixes. I hope such a process may be a test bed for scheduling fixes and the processes required to get them out on a sort-a-schedule. Such a new output lane could lead to it growing itself into something bigger, or just provide leaders with information helpful to build a custodian team.

No matter what, it is already a new helpful lane to get things out to the customers, with the potential to be more at a latter date.

Why is fixing conversion cost taking so long? It clearly isn't working but hasn't been fixed for a full month now.

[REDACTED] is probably Italy i think. There is only Albania (which we expected come with BfB DLC because it's part of Balkan), Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg left on Europe to got new focus tree.

Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Norway, and Sweden are all in Europe.
They probably come with Scandinavia DLC i think. Netherlands have focus tree but Belgium and Luxembourg is not (Benelux). Austria and Albania is annexing by Axis, that's why they don't have focus tree but baltic states have focus tree now. I forgot Ireland and Iceland sorry and maybe Greenland?

Most of team's time will still be spent reworking [REDACTED] and making a new focus tree for [REDACTED].
Reworking Germany and making a new focus tree for Finland would put some complaints about the scope of NSB to bed. Of course, this is probably not happening.

Reworking Italy and making a new focus tree for Japan and or Germany would make so many ecstatic. The Axis powers drive the tempo of the game and with their aging focus trees, decisions, and scripts, they sometimes drive the game to places not intended.

Reworking Air or Navy and making a new focus tree for, WHO CARES??? They are fixing Air or Navy!!!!!

They may be reworking Air and making a new focus tree for Italy. While this might resemble some requests made on these forums, I think most would agree it falls a little short of those requests. For one, Italy may need more than a new focus tree to be all it can be. Italy can be an opportunity to bring real fixes to Air and Navy while turning Italy into a challenging country to play. Italy has a little of everything, but not enough of anything. A perfect candidate for build up and go to war against the odds.

The long and short of it? I just do not know, but I did enjoy taking a few minutes thinking about the possibilities.
