Please solve the problem that American AI is too stupid. He has no role in World War II. Not only the army, but also the Navy. It is completely unable to simulate history

Shouldn't it be like that? until somewhere in 1941? I agree that the AI of USA could be better. Certainly for late game plays

Great little changes, was wondering if "Military Advisors to Spain" is working as intended, since it as it says that you'll get a random general but only seems to give Valentin Gonzalez. Also for the Right Opposition if they send advisors to the POUM Spain it doesn't seem to work at all. No general is ever given from my runs.

Hoping also for White Russia to get an illusive gentlemen, right now intelligence wise they're a direct downgrade to all other Soviet paths and Majors.

Hi,
Not sure if this is already on your list. But is it normal that event "

Soviet Union Demands Bessarabia"

fires twice when you got Romania as a puppet?
First it fires and then I got USSR in war with my puppet... second time USSR takes Bessarabia. Looks like somehow the event fires twice... not seen this before (patch 1.11.10)

Hmmm, it's also in version 1.11.9... so not an issue of this patch. Will create a bug report... when i replay this part.

At present, only Britain is more active in landing operations. The number of the US Navy in 1945 was only half that of the Japanese Navy. Their combat effectiveness is worrying

There is a bug with german tank models ( DLC files missing ), some german army insignia ( some of them corrupted ) leader of mengkukuo has weird skill ( naval bomber ? ) and charles lindbergh has wrong portrait and skill ( I suppose tactical bomber and fighter ) I think these bugs are still didn't fix

The bug fix is always good. Well done.
Btw, a Japanese theorist Hideo Itokawa's localization line is missing. Could you fix it in this/next patch?

I would not expect an old save to work. You have to try it again
normally an old save on the same version work normal. And I did redo some things. Like puppet IT and then added the command to the ships which should fire the achievement. but you trickered me ... let me redo the focus tree as well and see if this solves the issue

PROBLEMS SOLVED! YOU WILL NEED TO START A NEW GAME AND REDO THE ACHIEVEMENT. THEN IT WILL FIRE.

Pitty... because it cost a lot of time to redo it... but anyway... problem solved.

That's what I suspected as in the new patch, the legacy id 556 is given to Horthy in the form the Austro-Hungarian empire focus. If you already did that focus on an old save you can't do it again and thus can't get the achievement

I wanted to see if the Baltic fix worked, so I did a British playthrough and did not observe any further unhistoric AI behavior. Thanks! :)

But I thought it may be an opportunity to make to make a few comments on the British playthrough . The UK is the country with the most diverse challenges and most tools in its toolbox offering different strategies. As such, it is one of the most interesting to play - and although NSB was meant for the USSR, its greatest impact was for the UK, which is all about using command power with the governments-in-exile, which also through joint exercises allows it generate xp while picking off targets of opportunity. However, the command point pool boosts from the staff focus and land doctrine are too small to also be able to hire all leaders and boost key air operations. I would thus recommend a (reasonable) increase.

There are also some oddities in the anglo-american relationship that, while not bugs, could be worth looking into in a future patch. On the US side, the Lend-Lease act has no function since you hit the requirements for lend-lease very quickly also without it. For a player UK this does not make much of a difference, though, since the US never wants to give you anything anyway., but it feels like a missed opportunity :)

It is also way too easy to bring the US into the Allies already in 1940. For a human player this is not necessary since the UK is more than able to deal with the Axis on its own. This is illustrated in the attached file, showing a snapshot of having Africa cleared of Italian forces before the French surrender (which i, in fact, is a good strategy since it allows the French to do more fighting before the surrender and thus have a higher starting legitimacy. And one can do it quickly with low losses (in the attached file the British took only 7k losses while destroying most of the Italian army).

But having an AI Britain bring in the US in 1940 makes the game a bit unhistoric. And speaking of this, even the historic setting, with Japan declaring on the UK and US in mid '41 is a bit premature. I seem to recall that Pearl Harbor was in December. :)

It would also be very nice to have a map feature that makes your convoys avoid a sea square but does not affect your navy. As it is now, the supply system is way too eager to use ships over trains. This is a problem for all countries. Sometimes it can be fixed by building high-level railroads. For instance, a level 5 railroad from London to Bristol avoids traffic in the channel, and a level 5 railway from DC to San Francisco to avoid having the west coast supplied by ship from DC. But in some cases it is difficult. Expanding the railway to Vladivostok is a major hassle for the USSR, so blocking off sea areas is preferrable.

How about fixing the wrong tank models yet? Its been months now and i still cant select anything other than AA for modern tanks. Maybe you should refund my tank packs since they do not work anymore.

Any chance more focus bypasses will be added in this patch? The CZE focuses, The Polish Question and the Hungarian Question would be awesome to gave bypasses if already at war with them. Or if they are capitulated or no longer exist.

It is hard to argue with some/most of the points you make. Like Arheo said, most of us get why people sometimes post a little louder than they would normally do. Some of my past posts drop a list of things that I felt needed attention long ago.

In the past I blamed the higher up decision makers for not giving the development team the resources they needed to fix issues faster. Podcat stepped up and said not to blame them, that he made the decisions. I get that, but in a fantasy world where Podcat, now Arheo, had the authority to pull anyone and everyone from inside Paradox to help out on HOI4 and hire any new people they felt could be helpful, I have no doubt that every bug and feature and wish of the developers could be completed. Since we live in the real world, resources are limited and decisions have to be made. That is why it is hard for me to accept that some larger blame rests on Podcat or Arheo. Forgive me, but I still believe people in higher positions do not give the HOI4 team what they need to break out of this cycle that has been ongoing for years.

Unfortunately, since HOI4 is so successful, those decision makers probably feel they are making good choices. It is those guys and gals I would like to loudly post concerns about resources to, not the development team. I know on this forum, many people who are "nice" to the developers get labeled as fans and should be ignored. It would not surprise me if these fans are just aware that the those higher up decision makers are not watching this forum, so choose not to raise their voice at those who are unfortunate enough to be on the front lines.

Heaven help me though, some days I see the potential the game has and the cycle it is caught in and I truly want to YELL on these forums. If you ever see me do it, please help me eat those words, because I do not want the development team to read them, and worse, read between them, and steal any of their energy.
HOI4 needs Custodian Team like Stellaris. More than Stellaris imo.

Please solve the problem that American AI is too stupid. He has no role in World War II. Not only the army, but also the Navy. It is completely unable to simulate history
Historically speaking the U.S. in WW2 had a relatively small army for its size/compared to other powers and focused more on military production and support of allies. Smaller number but very well equipped units. It's called the "90 Division gamble". Original plan was like 215 Divisions I think.

So on Historical Mode the U.S. AI should be modified to act this way imo.

Upgrade the railroads to Rostov, Murmansk, and Vladivostok to the same level as to Leningrad, level 3. Not 5. That will make for less sea supply, and what does happen comes out of closer ports.

Same way in the US. Upgrade San Fran or San Diego to level 3, as well as New Orleans.

It will use ship supply to 'skip around' areas with lower level connections, unless you have a <same level as the nearest port to capital> railway going somewhere else.

Experiment with it, you'll see. Don't overbuild in one area, as it will make the sea supplying worse to the 'lower' areas.

You always want a level 5 railroad to the port of exit. Otherwise your supply throughput will eventually become limited by the rail at the origin rather than the port at the destination. This is not solved by building level 3 railroads either in one or several pieces. The reason you want to build it to San Francisco rather than Baltimore is that the number of convoys on a route depends on the distance, so with longer sea lanes you will lose more transports (while your trains are safe).

For the UK, the railroad to Bristol is very convenient for supplying other parts of the world. But if you look at the naval map you will see that there is a lot of shipping going through areas where it gets hit by subs or navs, and currently the only reason for not blocking it is that it also removes access for your navy.

Unless you want to invade China at some very late stage of the game, the USSR will not need more than a level 2 railroad to Vladivostok. But you definitely don't want to have convoys running between the North Sea, the Baltic, the Black Sea and the Pacific. The AI seems to struggle with this usually and claims to have few convoys available for lend-lease.

EDIT: Just to clarify, there are two goals you want to be able to achieve at the same time. On one hand you don't want to limit your distant sea supply by having a low-level rail connection from your capital to the exit port, but on the other hand the system uses sea supply even when an existing rail connection has sufficient throughput to meet the demand. Being able to block certain sea areas, and perhaps have a general sea/land preference button, would allow you choose if and where you want to use sea supply when it is not needed. And there may be areas also in overseas supply / trade lines that you want to avoid, but where you still want your navy to operate without restrictions.
