OP Bohemian provinces

Hi.

Now I definitely don´t want to complain about this as I am Czech and I am planning to play as Bohemia, but I´ve just found something which seems strange to me. 3 Bohemian province in 1492 already have regimental camp built. This is the 4th building in the military build tree and you need tech level 13 to e able to build it. Istambul (Constantinopole), Paris and London all have only armory. Is there some reason for it or is it a mistake? We sure fought in Hussite Wars and beat pretty much the whole Europe (temporarily), so I can understand Bohemia would have this, but why is it also in Erz and Moravia? Anyone?

Well, I am no expert here, but I have nothing against it. In the 13th century there was quite massive German colonization (they were invited to help with tech ). Many Germans live in this country, especially on it´s borders, so I think it is ok. What I don´t know is the fact if those areas had Czech names (which were used) back then. Also, you can rename every province (you own I think), so even if you don´t like something, you can change that.

Damn, so because George of Podebrady had problems with maintain delicate balance between hussites and catholics we get those great buildings? I´ll take that any day! :laugh:

well, i personally am quite puzzled. this is coming from ckII too. when provinces are owned by any slav nation in the area the names of provinces in former DDR have their ancient slavic names. once you own them as czech bohemia the names turn to german. (why?)
erz was named like that in eu3 too. coming from german erz-gebirge. boehmerwald is way better than totaly out of place sudety. (you know erz might as well be named sudety). but still the german name while southern bohemia never had that big german minority compared to north and west. also it seems a bit strange that half of bohemia is in german region. in my opinion it should be that either all of bohemia belongs to the german region (as it was always considered part of germany by germans) or not part of it at all. but not with a line splitting it in half. it was never like "this part is german and this not" until onkel Adi made it so.

Population depends on the region. For example Prague was a german city and before WW1 germans were the majority of the inhabitans. The same way for many other cities.

the majority slowly became czech after abolishment of serfdom (1781). the people were completely free to move since 1848. it's true prague had german majority before WWI but way long before 1914. this demographic change occured in 19th century when serfs moved to big cities. then a band of german speaking intellectuals decided they wanted to be czech, had to reinvent and learn the language and all went wrong since then

That must be the reason why the Czech language doesn't have the very characteristic Slavic palatalization, i.e. - soft vowels.
