OOC: Neuwestbaden Stock Exchange Office

I was thinking that Eutopia needs its own Stock Exchange place, where all our companies are listed, and the values of their stocks re displayed, and changed.

My intention was to change the value of the stocks every week, and when doing so taking into consideration the activity of the company and deals that has been done.

Any ideas about that? And, would I be allowed to do this?

One more thing, I put the Eutopian Economical Center in Neuwestbaden, I hope that you won't have a problem with that.

Yeah, otherwise someone would just make themselves a millionaire, promise absurd amounts of money to players, and try to buy everything up. Oh, wait....

Seriously, I agree it should be controlled by a GM. The GMs have already made some decisions about company stocks (see last newslink) and previous attempts to start a player-run exchange have failed.

But having an exchange is a good idea, if the GMs will go for it.

It's low to think that of any of the players of this game. I am convinced that anyone who gets the assignment to controll the Stock Exchange of this country would do it without gaining themselves in anyway, more like the other way around.

It may be low to think that of someone, but it has, in fact, already happened Kent. Take a look around, I think you'll find the company pretty fast. Heagarty is speaking from experience. I think you even sold to them? But I don't remember.

Anyway, I like the idea, but it would have to be GM run, I agree. Way too much opportunity for exploit. Even if you were to run it and do a marvelous job, what about the next guy?

Okay, I have a trial stock Exchange up in the 1rst post of the NEWS EVENTS; I am thinking of adding more companies and reporting "quarterly" which roughly means... every month, and when events dictate.

Don't remember? I bought some struggling timber, coal mining, and fishing industries a while back. I've been giving them a cash infusion to keep them afloat and tidy up operations, so I rather imagine stock would be low at the moment. But with an economic upturn on the way, there's never been a better time to buy!
