Only principal defenders can formulate demands ?

Hi,

Someone declared war on an empire with which I have a defense pact.

So a pop up appear to ask me which war goals i want. I try to slide what interest me to my empire. But when i try to click on "Formulate/make demands", it says "Only principal defenders can formulate demands".

WTF ? The other defenders who are not principal neither can make demands. I can see it in the "Negociate" tab.


Do you know what can i do ?

It works the same way in eu4. Best advice be careful who you form a defensive with.

Why the other allies of the principal defender can make demands but i can't ?

Usually in that case they are part of a federation and most be given a piece of the spoils

It's a large part of the reason I don't ever form defensive pacts or join federations

How do you do to no get powned by bigger empires then ? ^^

I am usually at worst equal. I usually don't play with advanced ai starts to be fair.

Also, the ai does a bad job attacking together so you can focus and wars even when outnumbered 2 to 1

Btw, is it possible to desactivate the diplomatic alerts ?

I don't really care if a far empire is rival with another, and these things keep pop up.

There is no the "SHIFT+Click to desactivate" message.

I know eu4 and ck2 have options but I haven't seen any.

Yeah I don't understand the time limit on making demands either
