While playing, I had the idea to try out making a roundabout, with a one way entrance and no way out..to see if people would live there.
Thinking if people cannot get out of their road, they wont make traffic, and without traffic public transit is the ONLY option.

Was just an idea, an experiment to see how the people would react in an otherwise normal city. Lets see what happens:
I started by making a 1 way round about, with a single one way into it.

Its a round about with no way out, with one way branches splitting off for houses, with commercial in the middle.

Only way out of this black hole is a bustop on the main road you must walk to. And it seems rather busy all the time seeing as its either a bus or walk everywhere :)

A few cars/trucks/cop cars wander in from time to time, never to be seen again...Do the residents convince them to move into the area? Using thier hive mind of unity to make sure that no one that enters ever leaves again? Maybe they eat them?

Over 1500 people have moved into this 'ultimate gated community' I watched one guy drive in with his shiny new sports car, and seem ok with the idea of "That new sports car I bought and drove home, well, its a lawn ornament now." for the car never to be started up again.

Overall they seem perfectly happy to live in a community that once you move in, there is no way to drive out. they have upgraded, go shopping at the stores in the loop causing them to be happy and upgrade also.

It seems a resounding success! My neighborhood of 'children of the corn' style road that people hear rumors of citizens going into to never be seen again, works great.

Add to one of the dead end streets a very long dirt road going straight across the map and once it goes far enough have it loop back on itself.

What is better than a black hole community? Give people some hope that they have an exit!

I think I know what happens there ...

People with garbage trucks just forget to take mothership with them.

... Those people really love their garbage.
