Do you have any tips to have a high Army Tradition? i never get above 50 maybe 60. doesn't matter which country...
As of 1.13, high army tradition isn't a thing anymore without ideas after mil tech 13 (and hard before). Since obsolete forts apparently don't yield army tradition anymore, without ideas I usually stagnate around 30 or so after being able to build bastions. I guess you can compensate a little if you take offensive or quality, or you can just try to gamble. Sometimes you get a good leader even with 20 tradition, so if mil power isn't that big an issue, good leaders are probably a better investment than development.

as alpaca states its a lot harder than previous iterations of the game without ideas. I kept mine in the 90s until I hit tech 14 (lv 2 forts) merely by being constantly at war, and keeping all forts I took and never mothballing. But as soon as i hit tech 14, the +1 i was getting for forts dropped to like 0.3 and my AT died.

EDIT: its also fiendishly expensive. I think my current fort maintenance is like 300 ducats.

So I am looking for some advice in my attempt.

Have Georgia, Morea and Aq Qyounlu as vassals.

1) NeXT step is to give Timuris a beating Again.

2) I am trying to get a hindu celots to revolt, but maybe I need more hindu provinses.

I been reading that i should make new vassals and integrate Aq Q, so I still get overseas coring and also give me more Manpower, Money and so on ? Is that a good idea?

Hope to get some advice, thx.

Lol need help to insert a screenshot, anybody?

Move your barrier when you first reach India (Sind), then another when you border China/Indochina.

I personally just moved capital to where Knight was and attacked Ming in early 1500's before I attacked India. Didn't plan it that way, just happened lol. Once I take out Ming (or before) I plan on moving my capital back to Constantine and create barriers for more everything. You can also create barriers for West and East Africa. You don't necessarily need to vassalize them if you are out of diplo slots, just core and sell back a province to create overseas.

This time I recorded the whole thing so if you are interested in seeing how I did it you can watch it on YouTube.

First of all: Insane!

Nothing more to say I think :)

Anyways I have one big question for you: How do you keep expanding with that high overextension? In Episode 40 you have 214% Overextension. In my games everything above 140% is practically lethal to my nation and yet you seem to be just sitting there and conquer even more lands.

Is there a trick how you deal with impossible high overextension or am I missing out a huge part of the game mechanics?

Hi Marco, that was an amazing job you've done!
I have a question. How do you manage to not have war declared on you by the other european powers (e.g. PLC)? They always break my balls while I'm in the middle of my indian conquests.

Marco, the vids were amazing, thank you.
I am going for 1 tag with current dlc's. Not not worried about how fast. A few changes I made to max admin in first 15 years. After Byz allied Crim, declared on Theo then atacked for cores without engaging AQ. After wars sold Theo and Trez to Morea. Attack AQ after and give to Morea in peace so 1 vassel. I make Hungary, Venice and Timmy rivals. I attack hungary and Venice before the mums. With Hungary I take 1 or 2 prov on way to Austria and westernization along with humiliate. With Venice feed Morea and humiliate. You will then have second idea while attacking mams. You will have high power projection and can also take the increase prestige for +1 stab before levant. I'm doing Admin, quantity, religious, diplo.

I still haven't had the time to watch the videos and I have no idea how the heck you did it. I'm actually fairly close to WC but I'm in 1750's. 70 years to clean up rest of Europe and America so it shouldn't be an issue but I'm not even going for 1 tag. I'm just hoping to get the achievement that's all lol.

God I made so many noob mistakes and I keep making them. I suck.

I still haven't had the time to watch the videos ... I suck.
Sorry but ATM I don´t have time to do the somewhat promised 30 minutes video explaining the highlights of my game; I might do it over the next two weeks or I might not do it at all due to lack of time (I work for a living too and YouTube is just an hobby).

You don´t suck but Paradox games tend to be difficult to master so it requires some time and commitment to be able to do the hardest achievements.

It may seem that I abandoned this thread but that is not the case, I will reply to every1 as soon as I possibly can.

Thanks. I overextended beyond 200% by accident before. More accurately I fed my vassal that much by accident. It was late, I was tired, then after that it was a serious of mistakes trying to wipe out half a mil of rebels and flurry of shipping my units from one end to another just to wipe them out. Only then I went to sleep.

In another I bought a diplo idea with 5 wars pending diplo points, three of which I needed to close out co-belligerants asap. I ended up peacing out with very little to no territories gained in many of those :(

I actually find that giving a vassal massive OE can be more manageable than taking it yourself because you can police their rebels in a smaller area than if you were trying to monitor your own massive country. The problem is that if they do not have the admin points to core then it can take a hell of a lot longer for them to get the OE under control than it would for the Ottomans to core the land themselves.

Oh my God.. I shouldn't have westernized. I westernized relatively late since I left Europe alone until 1600's. I planned on breaking Truce over and over against European nations toward the end, except I'd be eligible for 1 or 2 disasters if my stability dips below 0. It'd be way too expensive for me to break truce even once.

I'm really curious to hear about this too. Do the thresholds of how much OE a typical player can survive go up from completing all the humanist ideas, or was the empire on the cusp of disaster most of the game (i.e. something expert players can survive, but I probably wouldn't)?

I'm also curious if there's a general rule of thumb for knowing when you've grown enough to be immune to coalitions.

IIRC as of 1.14 the rebels factions need at the very least 10 months before rebels can spawn; IIRC a Shiva Ottomans with adaptability need only 11 months to core so unless we are hugely unlucky the rebels won´t be able to spawn with "only" a 75% chance of progressing towards rebellion every month. In short the trick is to have very low unrest due to Humanist and very short coring times. I even had a plan to reduce the ottomans coring times to ~7 months which should let me break my 1579 One tag WC record (well at least under 1.15 but it should still be possible under 1.16 but much harder due to corruption).
