Remember when Common Sense was released and people were staggering that one tags were completely impossible now?

One tags are not impossible in Common Sense and I suspect Marco could manage it but it would be a close run thing to make it by 1820 as the tendency for the AI to spend monarch points on development would increase the costs for coring and for annexing vassals.

remember when people used fringe cases/baseline exploitation of the game mechanics to say that new features were not ridiculous.

I should point out I have no issues with what Marco did, and I am using the same overseas coring to do my 1 tag attempt (although not bothering with the moving capital to Asia thing, because I am not doing a speed run)

I just love that Zealots love to point out fringe cases that prove their points. What other nation can reach the 90% coring floor so early in the game? The Ottomans have always and will always be uniquely setup to achieve 1 tag due to their geographical position, and their NI's.

Also most of us that argued that coring costs were absurd in CS never suggested 1 tags were impossible.

Keep up the good work Marco!

Why is Common Sense bad for WC? I just got it couple days ago and had it on since then.

The AI will develope their provinces, every point of development increases coring cost by 10. if you dont have CS nobody can improve development

De nada. :)
I will probably roll back to 1.12 and do it again to show how it was done. Probably I will only go until ~1525 and then people can do the math, for some people it has to be that obvious or else they will fail the calculations.
What I told you earlier still stands but we will keep in touch.

Ty. Yes "Common sense" and "El Dorado" were disabled because of reasons. Scutage would not help me out with that issue because both the seller and the buyer need to be at peace.

So why were Common Sense & El Dorado disabled? I'm wondering if I should disable them myself.

I just realize something. Before picking city of world desire, if you pick "Form Alliance with dulkadir "you will get 5 prestige and 25 dip power, also dulkadir dont ally anyone else and the other states dont attack them. That is good because it becomes an easier target.

The sky is blue, water is wet, and the EU IV UI lies. Some things never change ;)
I don't know to what extent the PDS algorithms are data-driven (beyond the obvious such as event scripting) but if you have data-driven algorithms then dynamically self-generating documentation for them (including UI tooltips etc) becomes feasible and sometimes a doddle. I've been doing that for decades, it's the only way I can provide accurate documentation for data models, expert systems, auditing of automated risk analysis/decision-making, or even keeping myself up-to-date with what most of my software actually does. PDS already may have started doing this - for example the "decision prerequisite" tooltips intuitively look like they're dynamically generated that way.

The above is intended merely as a comparative observation, not as any kind of recommendation / suggestion / demand.

Yes, I always do that one first. I also ally AQ and the other one next to Dulkadir (Ramazan I think) so that Mamluks won't attack them. Once I'm done with Albania and Bynzantine, I proceed to attack the one I haven't allied. It'll conveniently drag in one or two with it that I'm already allied with. Then I break alliance with whatever that's left, then attack it too. After doing that there's usually only one province left in the area, I think Karaman.

Changes to exploration IIRC. If you don't have El Dorodo enabled, you can still manually explore outside of your coring range.

Ahh thanks. Personally I would never take exploration until end game as Ottoman so I wasn't sure why. I thought perhaps it's because of all the bonuses AI can get from Conquistador events.

Hi Barros, would you mind writing a summary of the strategy you used here? The 24+ hours of video for this playthrough is about the amount of time that I'm able to sneak in on EUIV in a month if I'm lucky, so while I take it as proof that the feat was completed, I'll never have so much time to watch all the videos to see the method.

Same for me. In between work and family, the time I can spend on EU4 is more and more limited. Great feat, anyway!

In his commentary on one of the videos he said he hopes to produce a highlights video showing the main "tricks" in one, high speed, video.

You need to have zero unrest in the relevant provinces before sending the missionary otherwise the missionary will just increase the unrest in a province that is already generating separatist rebels.

Thx londoner..

You need Wealth of Nations :)

Edit: and then you can pick the Shiva Deity for the -10% Core Creation Cost.
