Seriously, this has to be one of my favourite Flashpoints so far. The entire plot I found to be laugh-out-loud funny. From the moment you see that glasses wearing parrot, on your Vid screen, you know that this is not going to be any ordinary story. The sketchy nature of our "Trustworthy Client" is also a source of great humour, as is the simple fact that all of these battles are taking place for the sake of Star League era OFFICE SUPPLIES!!!! ;)

I also do love the fact that your very first Flashpoint decision is to dismiss this guy as a crank, outright, or to take the job regardless of how sketchy he seems.

On a more serious note, though, this Flashpoint did force me into a difficult situation. I am now at a stage where I have moved on to Medium & Heavy mechs, so was struggling to find a Lance that would meet the tonnage limits of the first mission. Luckily I happened to have a Blackjack in storage, so I quickly prepped it & fitted it with basic weaponry.

Needless to say, for the second part of the Flashpoint, I chose the option that allowed me the freedom to bring along a largely Heavy lance (Quasimodo, my Hunchback; Nimrod, my Orion; Pellinore, my Black Knight (I wonder if anyone gets the Pellinore reference ;) ) & Shogun, my Kintaro).

On a final note, for such a comedic flavoured, 2 skull mission, the overall payout was actually pretty decent, & I got 2/3rds of a Stalker into the bargain!!!

Seriously, Harebrained Schemes, more Flashpoints like this one in the next DLC would be greatly, greatly appreciated. I was laughing almost every step of the way :D.

Wholeheartedly agree. This has been my favourite flashpoint so far. It would be more than appropriate for our 'Trustworthy Client' to make a second (or third) appearance. I get the feeling he's the type that doesn't learn from experience...

All it needed extra was a small pirate in it's shoulder croaking 'Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight!'.

I'm also reasonably sure the mystery corporate client would be Comstar.

Did another flashpoint tonight.....this time "A House Divided". Quite a few ups & downs in this one. Sadly managed to lose another Kintaro....one of my favourite mechs...& it was 100% my fault. I knew he needed to eject, but I kept pushing my luck.

After choosing to honour my original contract, I was able to make good use of my high tactics pilots in order to decapitate a Zeus.....that was an awesome sight. This did, however, once again leave me wishing that I had forgone c-bills in favour of a 3/12 salvage split ;).

The upshot of this thread is that I have done more Flashpoints in this run-through than in my previous 2 run-throughs put together.....& I am definitely finding them to be the highlight of Career Mode :).

My main suggestions for improvements would be:

More flashpoints with consecutive deployments and/or tonnage limitations.

More mid to long deployment flashpoints, with potentially multiple tough choices.

More flashpoints featuring the more unusual mission types (like attack & defend, target acqusition & Battle+....or variants of the priority mission types from the Campaign).

Lastly, I'd like to see some regular contracts have a "chained mission" structure to them, with both consecutive & non-consecutive deployments. Maybe these kinds of contracts can only be unlocked by being liked by a faction.

Anyway, just a thought.

Yeah, when I first got the flashpoint, I was like, "is this some kind of prank or easter egg from HBS?" I still think it is, but a pleasant one, although I gotta say, the last mission, protecting a bunch of civilian buildings that get destroyed if you look at them funny, made me go with a bunch of medium mechs instead of heavies and assaults.

Personally, I've thought of it as a satire: we're fighting other people to the death and demolishing buildings for office supplies of the past? Ed's obviously been hired by Comstar, though any other SL-obsessed group will do too. It has been a long time, but there are several novels (and source books? can't recall) that narrate the zealotry of Comstar...

But "beauty lies in the eye of the beholder" and stuff... ;)

This one, and "Tournament of Champions" are two of my favourite FP's. The introduction of the Raven, and Yang's own FP are both very well done too! :thumbs-up emoji:
In the coming months, I'll be doing a Career for the DC and another for the CC, preferably before HM is available. :D
