So, this is a really great game.
But I ran into one highly annoying problem that keeps popping up. The way the AI spams you and you can't make it stop. Two examples.
1. Some English Duke decided he wanted to kill my children as the King of the Scots. Apparently they were in line to some succession somewhere -- I could never even figure out what the problem was. The AI sent assassains again and again every few days until all my children were dead. I get the persistence, but a cool down on the assassain spam would have be nice. There's really no strategy when the AI plays like this -- see one assassain, you better spam him back until you kill him whatever the cost because the AI won't take in cost benefit of each assasain like a player would.
2. I went to war with England, and the Duke of Orkney saw an opportunity to have me excommunicated. My relationship with the pope wasn't even bad -- minus 10 -- and I had a few hundred piety. Fair enough. I had the big bag of cash needed to get the pope to reverse it. But Orkney put it right back on a few days latter. What's the point of giving the player an option for a very expensive chance to remove it if the AI is going to be able to spam requests? You might as well just ignore getting excommunicated because there's nothing you can do about it if the AI can spam requests -- the same factors are going to lead to it getting put back every time. Getting more relations with the pope takes a long time. A cool down would have been nice. Actually, if the pope removes and excommunication it shouldn't be able to put it back on at all.
