Wait, wait, wait. No more expansions for vicky? that's a pity. Will there be any patches then? like 5.2 for EU3?

Or another HoI game. I think that HoI4 is more probable given the time that passed since last expansion. V3 would make more sense though if Pdox wanted to release euiv converter. I don't care which punk is it, both will make my day. (I preffer V3 though)
People keep mentioning corporations. What exactly would corporations do to the game that isn't already represented by Capitalists groups? This wasn't the era of giant multinational companies we know today, so I can't see how inclusion of a microeconomic element in a macroeconomic oriented, country-level game would improve upon it.
And seriously: I'm not dismissive about the idea, I really want someone to convince me, because it sounds intriguing![]()
Never got this whole "mega-game" fixation...if anything the EU series alone tries to cover too much.
Standard Oil? US Steel? Krupp? Those companies had more power than anything today.
The problem is there are only a few of these monoliths of industrialization. And only in the big successful nations. Also you have a similar problem as you have with trench warfare. While it was very common for the top nations in the later years of Victoria 2. This was not the case for all the rest of the world.
You would need a special case for the biggest nations and not the smaller ones.
With Corporations it could be that one can form for the top 3 products for any great power if they have a major production of the world when one tech treshold get reached. And those could have mechanics to influence internal politics. But it would not make sense for every nation to spawn countless of these corporations.
Especial since the whole concept of corporations rather fall under the 1900 time span. As said you encounter a similar problem as with the whole trench warefare and the change in military tactics.
And even more with the change in national economics of planned economy, those entity's would make even less sense.
But yes there is no denying of the pull these giants had and special political considerations.
You didn't gave an answer to what these corporations would do in game. What would be their impact in game play?
Special groups similar to rebel factions with stronger impact on the financial status of the nations? And what would it be for not so industrialized nations?
I find it questionable to integrate a special system for these corporations that might only impact half of the GP in game.
According to steam, vicky2 is my most played of the grand strategy games and, considering the time I have sunk into ck2, this is rather incredible.
Although I guess the time for a vicky3 has been reached. The king is dead, long live the king.
Does steam keep statistics even if one (as one should) removes the game files from the steam folders? If so, the actual ammount played may be even twice as high.
