... there lived the great King of Saxony. With a mind sharp as his blade, born to conquer and rule. Widely known as Paragon of Virtue was he, and some say that he met Odin himself on his journeys. Also was he Fylkir, Head of the great Germanic Belief, in short: his deeds could only be topped by his ambitions, despite his young age of 21 soltices. A man that others only could look up to, an Exemplar of his people.
Then one day he spoke fair-minded and faithfully to the Folks of the County Gent , part of the long subdued region of Flanders, and he seemed to aggravated them a bit. His guards were found after this incident in the taverns tasting dutch beer.... well.... in that the King wasnt the paragon most people saw in him. Some evil tongues might even call him Hedonist.
And so this young King, Spawn of Light, crowned by the One-eyed, Scourge of the Franks, found himself in the position, where he shamefully had to flee the scene followed by an angry mob of his lower subjects, who no less than demanded his head on a plate for the open-mindedness with which he had blessed them before.
But there! The Temple of Doornik, Elysium of the County Gent, its doors promising Salvation.
And so close was the fleeing King!
With his last breath he reached the footsteps only to see the Gydja Wiltrud, the Lowborn Abbess, well aware of her religious head, her ruler, her high-born hand to feed her and the fate that she might give him over to with slamming the temple doors in his face.
Can you understand the Hate and disbelief, the seeking of vengeance and payback that darkened the young Kings mind? And shocked was he, when he survived this occurence without a scratch, that he was without legal options to retaliate upon her. As the gods decree its an eye for an eye, and the king didnt lose one. So he decided to refrain from imprisoning or even trying to kill his direct vassal for he was too venerable to break the law of the gods upon his personal vendetta.
But didnt she forfeit her title by acting that dishonorably towards her liege?
(Dear Paradox why cant i plot to revoke titles owned by Single-County Counts or lower?)
Shouldnt the King have the opportunity to sit court and judge over his lower subjects who were doing harm to himself, the public, the king or even the gods?
(Dear Paradox, i would really love to have jurisdiction of my realm in my hands as a full mechanic, not some few random events. u know.. maybe a decision or a plot or both where u can pull people in front of the high court where their good and their bad deeds, their character and their belief is put on the scales. With a ruling that gets mainly influenced by the ruler of course, but also by his Council, depending on the current Laws. More Law options to determine course of this act. With proper punishment of the evil at the end. A punishment that is widely accepted by public, more than a self-serving edict of one Liege. This game is a simulation of feudal sovereignty and i cant think of feudalism without having the absence of separation of power in mind. Please let me have a Thing in my saxon realm
