on which buildings should i focus? and where is the break even point for some others?

I love the overal atmosphere of the game, its really relaxing and feels very simulation like.

But i must say that the buildung part feels a bit to gamey for me. Are there in game any hints that buildings gain manpower and forcelimit?

So far im happy with the overall experience.

Yes. Read the Wikipedia for all kinds of hints and especially for an overview and strategy guide for your country.

Sort of. A player who is both highly observant and inclined to explore the game in fine detail will notice (eventually), but nobody else will.

The game is quite replayable, I have found that often you will stinge on the buildings as the points are so precious.

Military buildings are the most used as these points are not as necessary as the others.
