Hey devs,
First of all, super work on the new patch and expansion. Worth every dime, its features have supercharged the game, particularly the Decisions, and unlocked all kinds of possibilities for the future of the title.
However, the game feels very lopsided right now. Some "first class" countries like Germany, China, Japan, and the UK have incredible Focus Trees while others (like the US, USSR, even France) have relatively crummy Trees that are arguably worse than some of the second-rate countries in the game. Further, after a spin with the beta build it doesn't feel like the rest of the game is equipped for an ahistorical Germany at all with what should be pivotal events firing to no conclusion, because it expects things to be in place that simply aren't due to a lack of flexibility and adaptability of the system.
I start to wonder if the Focus Trees should be for meta-level national goals - WE R FASHIST NAOW - that unlock Decisions to trigger event trees. That would likely be more flexible and adaptive to the dynamic global political setting instead of trying to get some 30 railroads to interlock at the right times.
