In that case I guess I could be a little proud of being in the 1%...We do not generally discuss specific thresholds because we don't want people trying to game the system.
Also as any infraction could skip past the automatic thresholds and result in serious action and ban if it is warranted, so instead just follow the terms of service and you will not have any issues just like 99% of our members do.
Why? It's easy to break the rules, it takes no special talent. What is there to be proud of? The fact you violated the rules you agreed to when you joined?In that case I guess I could be a little proud of being in the 1%...
To be in the 1%. It makes you feel a little special (unfortunately in this case not in a positive way). But I am so proud of myself when I write something which would clearly be against forum rules due to heat of the discussion but I manage to click on the cancel button before posting it.What is there to be proud of?
Impressive.If you exclude Ad bots, it is even higher than that.
I learned to do that, too... Sometimes you just can't say what you want to say on this board.To be in the 1%. It makes you feel a little special (unfortunately in this case not in a positive way). I would presume members who have posted at least once.Impressive.
What do you define as active though?
In my opinion an active member frequents the forum regularly and has posted much more than once. If you include people who have posted only once in the statistics (or say have less than 100 posts) then it's no surprise that 99% of all members don't have infractions because you can't really get infractions if you don't post much.I would presume members who have posted at least once.

Alright, understandable. I received my first (and only) infraction over a year ago for replying to a moderator comment. The infraction was for 2 points and I was simply wondering how severe that was (would another mistake like that result in me being banned?). Anyways, thanks for answering.We do not generally discuss specific thresholds because we don't want people trying to game the system.

Ultimately they all answer to me in these matters so ... Yes.I hope that this is every staff member's approach..
18 months if my memory serves me. So you should be able to do it.
How many points would result in a member being banned?

This might be a dumb question, but how in gods name do you do it? I don't see any opitions for me to do it.
Go to: Settings->edit profile.
Could it be possible that you (or another admin/mod) can send me a PM with the answer as I too would like to know? Not because I want to game the system, but because I am paranoid about reaching the limit and I want to be more careful if needed.
(even though I doubt that I am anywhere near it)
Being more careful when close to the limit and not caring when further away is precisely gaming the system. "I can break a rule because I have some points to spend" and is precisely why we do not advertise the thresholds, just be careful and follow the rules.![]()
As Castellon already wrote, it's usually starting with a 48-hour global ban. Permabans usually require a significant number of shorter temporary bans (provided you're neither a troll nor a adbot).So you as a company keeps this a complete secret until someone has already pass the limit, and then give them an auto-ban??? (in relation to the “auto-ban from too many infractions”) A bit messed up isn’t? (no need to answer this, it is a rhetorical question)
I think even trolls get the temporary bans, because I have seen several people get bans for trolling and later be unbanned.As Castellon already wrote, it's usually starting with a 48-hour global ban.
