Probation expires when your point level drops low enough as a result of infractions expiring.

Still wondering about this question. Anyone know the answer?

We do not generally discuss specific thresholds because we don't want people trying to game the system.
Also as any infraction could skip past the automatic thresholds and result in serious action and ban if it is warranted, so instead just follow the terms of service and you will not have any issues just like 99% of our members do.

Alright, understandable. I received my first (and only) infraction over a year ago for replying to a moderator comment. The infraction was for 2 points and I was simply wondering how severe that was (would another mistake like that result in me being banned?). Anyways, thanks for answering.

You really need to be trying to get a permanent ban here.
Most bans are for a limited and escalating time period starting at 48hours.

We WANT members, not pissed off people that hate us. It is just that sometimes no matter how many chance you give, a person insists on being disruptive to the other members enjoyment of the site and needs to be removed. My philosophy is that we want to guide you to being good members rather than look for infractions so we can punish you.

I hope that this is every staff member's approach..
Ultimately they all answer to me in these matters so ... Yes.
Issuing infractions and the like is much like a cop having to do paper work, a necessary part of the job but not something you look forward to.

Could it be possible that you (or another admin/mod) can send me a PM with the answer as I too would like to know? Not because I want to game the system, but because I am paranoid about reaching the limit and I want to be more careful if needed.
(even though I doubt that I am anywhere near it :p)

Being more careful when close to the limit and not caring when further away is precisely gaming the system. "I can break a rule because I have some points to spend" and is precisely why we do not advertise the thresholds, just be careful and follow the rules. :)

So you as a company keeps this a complete secret until someone has already pass the limit, and then give them an auto-ban??? (in relation to the “auto-ban from too many infractions”) A bit messed up isn’t? (no need to answer this, it is a rhetorical question)

In any case, do you at least provide a “final warning” to that party, informing them that the next infraction will result in a ban, before issuing the next infraction, which would result in a ban?

Pretty sure I have already said in this thread that you really have to be trying to get perm banned, it does not happen by accident.
