I’m very interested in seeing what Paradox has planned for our games launch? Don’t ya feel a BIG event coming to promote the launch? Something like playing it live underneath the Brandenburg Gate or the teams are three tents on Omaha Beach France (Axis, Allies & Comintern). Maybe they rented out a gaming center in London so they can prepare for the Blitz? The sales blitz?!?

With a game launch intentionally set for D-Day? Paradox Studios are in Europe where ½ of the war was hosted. With all the WWII historical buildings/monuments/places etc. I just have this feeling that something large regarding the launch at a famous WWII European site of some sort is only natural?

I’m just picturing WWW and the back drop being something WWII related in some way. It could be played out of doors. Live audience? Live stream on Twitch.

What do ya’ll think?

Hey I had no idea. I just googled wwii monuments and the photo popped up. I thought it looked nice all lit up at night. If it needs to be closed close it. But if you think it was intentional then just read my post history. I think you will find if anything it was just an honest mistake.

In thinking about it a bit further. Why is it still standing then? You don't see other banned things still standing in Germany. So why this? Why would this make the banned topics list in this forum? If it stands for something so horrific then why is it still standing today? I'm not saying it shouldn't but you can't blame me for not knowing a monument would be banned on a forum.

Don't get me wrong. There's absolutely no reason why this should be closed.
What I meant is that playing a WW2 game close to a monument of a former axis member could be perceived as an approval of the policies or aura of that country, while we all know very well that that's absolutely not the case (but I'm sure some cheap jornalist would have a field day...).

It's not that controversial. But there would always be some who would want to make it so. It's not worth the potentially bad publicity.

Anyway, Paradox didn't do anything similar before. All they did for Stellaris was a two day live MP streaming event, a few days before.

While 6 June has historical significance, I actually think that is a complete coincidence. They launched Stellaris on a Monday, and that might be the preferred release date for Steam? 6 June is the first Monday in June. They had to fit it between Stellaris and the holiday season. There's not much choice of release date, and that must have been a difficult one for them - it's the national day in Sweden and a public holiday. Looks like the devs will be giving up their day off ;)

They have a small boat going to the shore, Johan Andersson in full costume, he's not holding a gun he's holding the game. Gets on the beach and says, after a year and a half of planning and working out problems, we did it!
Hope he retains his planning bonus ;)

Oh no!
Don't say that!
I'm just going to pretend you did not post it and I did not read it.
