Oldest dynasty

Have anyone find the oldest dynasty in the game?Beside the byzanitnes and popes.I wonder if a dynasty from the roman times exist in the game.

I find a welsh courtier whose dynasty Gwerthrynion goes back to year 441,but they have never held a county.Do anyone know something about this dynasty?

I've found the Roman Emperors, back to Constantine the Great.
I've forgotten how, but I suppose if you look into people's ancestors and genealogy on Wikipedia you'll find it.
Start with the Byzantine Emperor and work your way back using the Family Tree (not the dynasty tree).
The Dynasty you'll be looking for is the "Augustus" dynasty.

EDIT: I checked a dynasty called Cétchathach for one and its earliest member, Conn Cétchathach, was born in 130.

IIRC, if you start as the count of Tyrone (or Tyr Connell) in 1337 you can go back all the way to him, though the dynastie does change its name a couple times, but it is still a direct male line.

Yee,i saw an irish dynasty calld Ua Brian(somethinglikethat)that goes pretty far back too.But that guy you mention is the farthest back ive seen in the game so far.It would be cool to find a Visigothic dynasty too

-Saint Andrew as first Ecumenical Patriarch, displayed as being born 8 A.D.
-The third Pope Anacletus I., born 20 A.D.

The Hashimid dynasty in Mecca at the start dates back to the 300's.

The Karling dynasty is in France, I believe under a duke, and that dates back to the 600's I believe.

It's a pity that the Frangipane/Frangipani family isnt represented as either being in the Papal court, or as a baron - it's the direct continuation of the ancient Roman Ancii familly (they changed thier name after the fall of the Empire at some point to highlight that when the city of Rome went through famine, they stepped up and provided bread for the people: frangipane = 'bread maker") They also ended up having branches in Venice, and a very successful branch became lords in Croatia (the name there would be slavacized as 'Frankopan').

King of Nubia (Playable) is part of the house Azim, traced back to 650.


The longest LIVING dynasty in the game is House Ua Neill Noigiallaich, early of Oriel in 1066. They trace back to Chief Niall macEochaid Ua Neill Noigiallaich who died in 450. His father though is part of the Cetchathach Dynasty which traces back even further to Conn Cetchathach who Died in 201.

5 Irish counts can trace back to him, but the Count of Oriel only changes dynasty once.

Without going entirely crazy, the oldest I've found was the Hashimids already mentioned. Of course, I didn't think to look for those dynasties branches off of some other dynasty. Only reason I found that was I was looking for the Prophet, et voila! There he was with such a nice caligraphical representation. Very stylish.

I'd hazard a guess that the Gwerthrynion dynasty were descendants of Vortigern, King of the Britons, who fled to Wales (and met Merlin) after the Anglo-Saxon invasion. His name in Welsh is Gwrtheyrn.

There's the Bagritioni in Armenia/Georgia.

The Dulo's in Volga bulgar, both go back to around 600 if i remember correctly

The Dinefwrs (and Abberfraws), goes back to Coel Hen, and the Seissyls (courtiers in gwynedd 1066), goes back to the first dukes of said duchy.

But yes, the Hashimids are the oldest, unbroken (by that i mean without name changes), in the game.

You can find Charlemagne or Charles the Great if you look under ruler history for the Holy Roman Empire, his dynasty is still alive as well in the game.

ALSO, is the Romanov dynasty in north eastern Russia that rules some Pagan nation the same Romanov dynasty that would lead Russia until the Russian Revolution? Or is this a coincidence...

Coincident. The modern Romanovs traced their origins to a Kobyla in the mid 1300's.
