no, you dont need EU2 to play. this game is based completely online and you not need download any piece of software whatsoever.
we would be more than happy to welcome you to our little game. look at the map and at the National Statistics page where you will find a list of countries available (listed as "player:NPC").
a good place to start is a smaller duchy somewhere around the Holy Roman Empire, as you will have a lot of meaningful interaction with many players, but will not be overwhelmed.

I quit as Burgundy.
I'd like to thank everyone, and especially SaT for the best moments of RPing I ever had.
Before people panick, this is not a mass exodus. Yes, there is a link between SaT's departure and mine.
I obviously overextended my stay around here, and am now paying for it. It is a sad day when someone like SaT goes, and it is perhaps even sadder when I am responsible for it.
Kind of a shamefull way to go, I guess. But if I have to choose between writting my stuff and reading SaT's stories, the decision is quite obvious. For this reason, I hope SaT will come back, so that I will be able to read him again.
I still think he'd be the best player for Burgundy, and if it would be possible for the moderators to hold for a few days until giving Burgundy to someone else, I think it would only be fair if SaT could be allowed to apply for it. After all, most of the nice bits, of the complexities of the country come from him, from our incesant daily discussions on the subject... I only distorted them and in doing so, I kind of ruined them. And this is the knot of the problem. The deeper we went in the story, the deeper I screwed up the ideas. Sometimes I would simply overlook something which I thought was irrelevant, and was quite relevant to SaT's storyline. And at other times, I thought I would introduce weird twists, but it didn't really fit well in the whole plot, or were too obvious. Some of my characters had knowledge that came out of nowhere, others simply stole ideas from SaT's characters.
There would be much more to say, and I don't want to overshadow SaT's departure. I could explain SaT's departure (I'd probably make many errors along the line explaining it....) in much more details, but the end result remains that he's not part of this RPG anymore, and that we won't be able to read his work anymore.
I don't have much to offer to SaT, aside my resignation from the game, offering to him the country I played for 3 years now, and the fate of all of its characters that are attached to it. If he wants to change the storyline, so that some events did not happen, some words were not spoken, so be it, I'm 100% ok with it. I hope other players will allow the same.It is only fair, since most of this was his idea, and I screwed them up.
I think if we all wrote a PM to SaT, showing him how important his stories, his characters, were to us, he might come back, because I know it pains him to leave this RPG. Try to remember the best moment you had with him, reading his stuff, or RPing one of your character with yours. From the moment I got to play Éléanore with his Antonio, and subsequently with Anne, I was hooked. I'm sure you all had a moment when this happened to you as well.
Let him know. It's only fair.

once you chose a head of state, make an appropriate post in the National Statistics thread. Poland might have some treaties with nations from previous players, but you are free to ignore them/or honor them. you must however post that in Nat.Stats too.
as a new player, you are entitled to some time to learn the game, so when you feel threatened by other players..in any way or form, please let me know. i will talk some sense to them

Ok, but the whole point of the event was that Messina defect to Sicily. None of the 6 options listed that specifically, so am I to assume that I own Messina, or is it still Aragonese?
The event said that the island rallied behind Sicily, but it doesn't say specifically whether or not we got Messina. Can Ladislav confirm or deny this?

I believe that events handing out territories is too strong a power, and can be easily misused. if however the player of Aragon would ask me to run an event where the province might go under the control of a different nation, i might comply.

Aragon remained NPC for several weeks, but the event wasn't ran for nearly a month after I requested it, until there WAS an Aragon player. While Italian culture is somewhat helpful IC, the whole roleplaying I did for the event was about taking Messina.
