I just wanna get some achievements before Conclave. My current goal is 'Norse-East', so I started in 769 with Sigurdr of Svibjot and in the year 800 I am Emperor of all de jure Scandinavia, King of Saxony and Fylkir of the reformed Germanic Faith. While I conquer one County after another in the Slavic and Suomenusko territory a message comes to me.

I was told about the creation of Italy, or something like that. You now, the event when a non Lombard Dude holds k_Italy. But something was strange about this dude. When i clicked on his pic a got an surprise. He is a Saxon and Old Germanic.

---+++---
Bennit of the house Billung (born: 1.1.759) was Chief of Osnabrück which he inherited from his father Amelung. But his rule was short, because High Chief Bruno 'the Just' of Brunswick revoked his title. He fleet to his brother, Chief of Göttingen but Bruno revoked this title too. With no money, land and his home country ruled by the Norse (Me), he went into foreign lands to siege his fortune.

He obvious was on the lucky side and must have made some good money and was granted the County and the Duchy (!sic) of Benevento from the Waldensian King of Lombardy in the year 802. In 808 the Waldensian King was overthrown by his catholic brother. But this one didn't get his seat warm because just 8 month later Bennit, now leader of a powerfull faction, forced the King to step down in the favor of him self!

---+++---

And this, ladies and gentleman, is the Story of the Old Germanic Kingdom of Italy. But sadly it will probably not last long because everyone hates him.

Edit1:
I retreat my last sentence. He already won hist first (weak) revolt and he is improving relations like crazy. He conquered a muslim OPM in Mauretania with the coastal conquest casus belli. He also left his old germanic ways and is now following the new Germanic faith!

Edit2:
King Bennit is dead, long live King Withgils son of Bennit and King of Italy.

Edit3:
Withgils had a hard time defending his titles. Holy Wars from Bavaria and a catholic OPM, two pretender Revolts and a strong catholic uprising. I had to help him for the sake of Thor. Sadly he was seriously insured in a battle and became Incapable and died shortly after comatose in bed in the age of 43. Now his oldest son Sigfrid took over the thrown with 17. He married my strong and genius daughter so we are bond by god and fight against the heathens.

Damn.....
Its a shame he is not reformed Germanic then he could enforce his religion in Italy and maybe improve his situation.
When his dynasty looses Italy you should totally land/ensure some of his family's survival in your empire, even if you don't want to press their claim on Italy, if nothing else then at least to see what kind of mad adventures they will get up to next. I mean would be next for them? Will they launch an invasion of Africa? Mongolia? Delhi!?

If anything however this proves history truly does repeats it self.

Wonderful since he is your religious subject, you should totally help him whenever the Karling (and or the Byzzies) blob to the north declares war against him.
It be fun to see the a pagan power arise in the Mediterranean seas.

Awesome! Glad to see the changes they made to adventurers last patch produce some truly magnificent results!

I just hope he survives long enough to conquer Rome! Aren't Great Holy Wars disabled before 900AD? He should last long enough then :D

I see Khazaria owning Avaria which means Magyars must be extinct like always in 769 start....Ugh

It's mostly because the Magyars, for whatever reason, almost always declare war on the Khazars which they always lose. Which opens the door for the Khazars to quickly swoop in and wipe them out.

How low was Catholic authority? Mentioning a Waldensian leads me to believe this was able to happen because Catholicism is being watered down...

I can't tell the MA of Catholicism back then. I just know old Germanic had a pretty high MA because of constant county conquest.

AD. 859
MA of Catholic 59.2% and reformed Germanic 100%

Sigfried is doing well. He lost one holy war and got a with peace on the most other wars. I just helped him once. He now converted most of his vassals and territory to Germanic and has a great levy rate: 11k. some of his vassals conquered hole Bavaria and he is now attacking France, so he is more powerful than me^^. I just got feudal and have a hard time to build up levys.

Bad news: I probably will no longer play this game any further because of Conclave and new patch
